Groundhog Day

I might watch that on Sunday night. I've never seen it before, so unlike the game next week, I don't know how its going to end.

 

I posted this a year ago. Just goes to show you how predictable this team is. You can't lose meaningful games to bad teams year in and year out and not take a look at your head coach.

 

Texans would shut us out.

 

This pertains to all Pittsburgh sports teams

We are 1-5 against playoff teams this year
Really wouldn’t matter who we played in playoffs
Beatdown

 

I really thought the win against the Lions was big
Until
A walk on qb beat them and handily
Didn’t have to hold on like we did

 

2018 Epic collapse after a good start. Behavior problems with wide receivers. Tomlin seemingly loses team

2019 Epic collapse after a decent start. Duck and Deer year.

2020 Epic collapse after starting 11-0. Team completely falls apart. Tomlin seemingly loses team. Gets absolutely **** stomped by the Cleveland Browns in one of the most embarrassing Steelers games of all time.

2021 Horrific start to the season. Team rallies around Ben and finishes strong. Gets absolutely mud stomped by the Chiefs in Ben's last game ever.

2022 Horrific start to the season. Team rallies around Pickett and finishes strong.

2023 Epic collapse after a great start. Tomlin seemingly loses the team again. Receivers quit on plays. Discipline is again non existent.

2024 Steelers upgrade the quarterback position and aggressively make defensive upgrades in the offseason. The team starts the season 10-3 and then completely falls apart finishing 10-7. Lots of finger pointing within the locker-room and seemingly no adjustments made to stop receivers from running wide open all over the field.

*** 2025 Steelers bring in Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Ramsey, DK Metcalf, and Jonnu Smith. Steelers fail to address the WR room leaving them thin all year. Steelers seemingly lock up the division, only to get beat by a terrible Browns team, and a struggling rookie QB. The Steelers save their season by beating a below average Ravens team. The Steelers get blown out at home by the Houston Texans and fail to score a touchdown in the game. ***

It is the same year, after year, after year. It isn't getting any better. Tomlin makes mind boggling in game decisions every year that cost the team games. From Martavious Bryant, to AB, to Leveon Bell, to JuJu, to George Pickens, this team has behavioral problems year in and year out. The guys that have the behaviors all end up eating dinner and hanging at at Tomlin's house.

Guys like Pressley Harvin, who would have been out of the league 2 years ago, continue to shank punts simply because Tomlin likes them.

Some of the worst coaching hires in the league get made by Tomlin year in and out.

Let me clue you guys in on what the 2025 version of the Steelers will be. The team will finish either 9-8 or 10-7. At some point during the second half of the season the Steelers will lose to a horrendously bad opponent that will hurt their playoff positioning. Expect one losing streak of at least 3 games during the playoff push.

*** 2026 prediction, both Tomlin and Rodgers are back together for another run. Steelers go 10-7 on the season and again get blown out in the wild card round. ***

 

Wow so accurate it’s uncanny year after year so consistent. Is this better than the Patriots really sucking for awhile and boom they are back on top yet again? I rather do it like the patriots to be honest at least get some wins in the post season.

 

The standard is the standard...10-8 every year and get blown out in the wild card round and every team want to face the steelers in the playoffs

In the score prediction thread I had us winning. After listening to ESPN before the game I realized we were not winning or scoring many points. I changed it to Texans winning and came close to correct final score.

 

Good post but I disagree on one point. Rodgers won't come back. It would be a waste of another season if he did. Steelers do not have a QB for next season. And how the hell have you never watched Casablanca??????

 

Mark it down steel machine. Rodgers will toy around about retirement, and it may even look official at times during the offseason. The Steelers will "leave a light on for Aaron" and he will miraculously announce hes playing one more year, just before mini-camp. Rodgers isnt going anywhere. The game of football is hard to let go, and Rodgers had fun playing for Tomlin. At the end of the day, he will be back.

No idea how I haven't watched Casablanca. It always struck me as a chick flick and I avoid those like the plague.
