Tomlin has 2 "consecutive" NFL records

Hey didn’t Lewis and Tomlin use the same crappy DC?

 

He's not done yet.
Tomlin has his sites set on most playoff losses ever.
Fewest playoff games to 20 losses.
Most consecutive non-losing sesasons withough a playoff victory.
Most empty slogans in modern history.
Most empty boasts in NFL history.
Most consecutive extensions withouth a playoff victory.

I smell an Art Rooney extension incoming.

 

Pretty much sums up the weekend of games. If Rooney isn't embarrassed by this showing then he simply doesn't care anymore:

 

It is time. The new Steelers era needs to start as early as today. No Tomlin, No Aaron. The raw underbelly of a team who made it to the playoffs throwing behind the LOS to two backs needs to be exposed even greater and longer than it was last night.

 

If we hired Marvin Lewis in 2007 good chance he coasts to a ring too. The longer Tomlin stays the more he’s exposing himself.

 

We could make argument that head coach like Marty Schottenheimer was very unlucky...so many close L and never catch a break come playoffs time

Not the case for the current steelers team,the 7 playoffs game losing streak,no one was even close,even if last night Stroud had done everything to make his team lose but it was not enough

 

We don’t just lose we get throttled. Other teams don’t crap the bed as bad as we do. All the games pretty close and we get smashed.

 

I always hate the “non-losing” season narrative. They never mention three of those “8-8” non-losing seasons were also non-winning seasons. I am not a half empty glass, kind of guy but call it what it is.

It's not great having that record.

But I think what it's been telling us recently is that he's been getting teams into the playoffs even though they have little to no business being there.

It's kind of like how his playoff record would be better if we missed the playoffs every year since the AFCC loss against the Pats.

Or like how the QBs with the most sacks tend to be pretty good QBs.

Walked into a platinum situation and has turned it into a joke.

 

tomlin does not lose - his teams get ANNIHILATED!

 

I am not a Tomlin hater, lets get that clear. I am more interested in results where they matter. Lets take a look shall we?

Tomlin has made the playoffs 13 out of 19 seasons. Not bad , right?
Tomlins playoff record in those 13 seasons is 8 wins, 12 losses, not good, right?
Tomlin has gone 1 and done in 9 of the 13 playoff seasons, not good, right?
Tomlin has 5 of his 8 playoff wins in his first 4 seasons....not good ,right?
Tomlin only has 3 playoff wins in his past 15 seasons. not good ,right?
Tomlin has had double digit losses in 7 of his last 8 playoff losses, not good , right?

Please tell me why this record is so revered?

 

The NFL doesn't hand out 9-8 or 8-8 trophies. That whole media narrative is a non-accomplishment. Means nothing.

 

I suspect the NFL is somehow making this continue when it shouldn't. How else does something this mediocre continue for so long without meaningful change. Goodell probably called Rooney right after the beatdown begging him to keep our staff pat for narrative purposes. JMO>

 

It's the other coaches' fault, never his.

 

Steelers now own the record for longest consecutive non losing seasons… it’s time to start fresh and truly rebuild not retool. Players, coaches, and philosophy. Even if we suck, I want to know there’s a chance we can go further than the regular season.

Or it could be telling us that he's getting to the playoffs with a playoff calibre team and getting smoked despite belonging there.
This is who we are. I've been saying it for years. We're a roller coaster ride that always crashes and burns at the end.
It starts out with anticipation and excitement. There's plenty good and bad. Then there's a stretch or horrible where people are talking about firing Tomlin.
Then we go through a stretch of good where people praise him again for turning things around.
Then at the end we crash and burn badly.

It's very predictable and it is not the sign of a good coach.
