Jarvis Jones and Bell both practiced today.

Curtis "Door Wide Open" Brown is out for an unknown reason. Hope he gets back out there soon.

I like the tough camp. These little injuries are nothing.

Agreed. Torn ACLs are bad. Nothing wrong with bruises.

Please read what I said,"watch how the Navy Seals train on Hell week and look how they perform". I never said they are the same in any shape or form. As far as hurting the team this was standard practice until big money entered the game. You train soft and you are soft!!!!

Well most teams stopped in the 80s and early 90s including the Steelers so I guess Lloyd, Greene, Kirkland, Holmes, Porter, and Harrison were all soft.

Someone is going to get hurt anyway whether it's camp cupcake or camp 8-8. I'd rather the whole team come out stronger and more prepared for the long season .

I don't know about the live tackling part but camps when those guys played were way tougher as compared to now, they most definitely trained harder which is a big reason why those guys were beasts. Tomlin is doing camp right, guys are still getting rests when needed, there's only been one big injury and that came on a blocking drill, Embernates knee just buckled.

Wrong go look a tomlin taking a page from Nolls book in the post Gazette. In fact from what I've read Tomlins camps were tougher then Cowher. Remember all the vets complaining when Tomlin took over.

You have your opinion and I have mine. This is what Coach Tomlin decided to do, he knows more than you and I so I guess we will live with it.
8-8 year is non acceptable for the Steelers, I just won't respond to your posts, everyone will not always agree..

Um, no, not wrong. Tomlins first camp was before the new CBA. Our 8-8 season had a camp that was like playing patty cakes compared to Llyod, Kirkland and those guys.

We just hope it is the right thing to do at this point and nobody gets hurt.

Just a side note to Steelhurtin i just don't agree with you on this, but I have read many of your posts on this board and you are an asset to all. This team is near and dear to the fans of Pittsburgh. thanks for your input!:drinks:

Agreed. We were WAY to soft last year and had a TON of injuries. DeCastro never even made it out of preseason.

Sure seems like we had a shiat load of injuries last year for a team that was not hitting hard. The grueling hard hitting practices could not hurt and as pointed out by professional nfl players it gives them the preparation they need right out of the gate.

I say hit hard in training camp so you can weed out the subpar players

And Curtis Brown was carted off with an ankle injury. Much more serious than the bumps and bruises the other guys have. We should go back to tackling, right SteelHurtin?

Anyone know if Spaeth is out and for how long??

I'm not sure this (below) is correct or not; I had heard he did have the knee "drained". Would that keep him out 2 weeks?

Per this ... http://pit.scout.com/2/1312856.html (posted Sunday)

"Allen and Spaeth both underwent minor knee procedures and are likely out for two weeks".
