With respect to the failures at the safety position (maybe corner depending on specific coverage call) Sunday night, I’m not really going to take away much from the Ravens game. Houston doesn’t have the Ravens’ running game, and especially, Stroud is not likely to take off and run for 30 yards like LJ. To me the failures on 2 of the 3 Ravens TDs were because of defenders being so focused on the backfield that they lost track of the receivers. It was a problem, but I don’t see it as a problem that’s likely to be repeated tonight because of the significantly different offense we’re facing.

I think there’s some hope for Ramsey if he gets an offseason to shift his focus to being a pure safety. whether we keep him and go that route, who knows?

The Steelers have been making adjustments on the fly in the secondary. Both safeties that opened the season as starters are gone. Ramsey had to make the transition from corner to safety during the season. Dugger joined the team during the season. He played well at first, but he has been a significant downgrade from Elliott.

Yes, the Steelers have a problem at safety. They need to address the position during the offseason. They should have done a better job replacing Fitzpatrick and they should have had a better backup option behind Elliott, who has battled injuries at time sin the past. Trusting Thornhill to start was a huge mistake. There isn't much the Steelers can do other than put as much responsibility on the rest of the defense as possible.

The safeties had problems in the Browns game too.

Playoffs are different. Teams are a lot more aggressive, also with different play designs. Look at the number of 4th downs attempted.

I only use the playoffs example because it's the latest games played.

You clearly know nothing about the draft and position value.

A safety is like 3 rips max. C’mon. Gotta stay up on the Ganja Tokes Draft Value Chart.
