Pierce was cooking the Texans secondary early in that game before they pulled some guys.

Defense: force punts, punts, punts, . . .
    Offense: score. score. score, . . .
    Offense: zero turnovers.

They started to pull their starters before halftime when they saw the Jags were blowing out the Titans.

Texans had 47 sacks over 17 games, so the average was less than 3, not almost 4.

You can’t exclude the games with 0 or 1 sack, and then use what is left over to say to expect for an average game.

At no point can the center sail a snap over the quarterback's head. Not even once.

At no point can Texan receivers be so open that there isn't a Steeler defender in the screen with them.

No 250 plus yard rushing games to any Texans' RB's.

No throwing 4 INTs, no having 3 turnovers in the first quarter.

I think we need to throw early and often to get the lead early. Take deep shot on early downs when the rusher expect run. Loosen up the box THEN RUN.

    1. I think we need to win the turn over game. Due to our coaching, we don't beat good teams without being on the plus side of turnovers.

    2. Our skill players need to hit 10+ yard plays. Not one or two. More than that. None of this very short passing the football on down 1 or 2 in abundance which leads to 3rd and long. Hold the ball .5 to 1 second longer on down #2. Put your body at risk in order to give the offense a better chance.

    3. Finally, do not come out flat on either side of he ball or history will repeat itself.

Fast start is important you don’t want to get down to this D.

    Houston vulnerable to deep balls....

    ....unfortunately so are the Steelers

3 keys for beating the Texans....

    1. OL executing blocks consistently for the run and pass protection
    2. D line not getting mauled in the trenches giving up huge chunks of yards to Texans RBs
    3. Secondary not botching simple coverages on 3rd and long

Honorable mention: more throws from Rodgers to Pat Frieirmuth in the middle of the field

Heard the stat that Houston is top in the league against short passing and limiting YAC.

I don’t like how this is shaping up for the fellas…

Anyone know the record for the most punts in a game?

And I heard they are great at short passes, but terrible at YAC

I have a feeling that this is the game the steelers will score over 7 points in the first quarter for the first time since week 1 in 2022!

It would be the perfect time....Can't start the game too much behind again or it will be a nighmare

20-16. Otherwise I agree…. Seriously though, I think field goals will mean something tomorrow night and for anything other than a Steel City Shove on 4th and <1 I’d probably lean towards taking the points on 4th down in FG range.

    Agreed.
I believe we should take the field goal every time we are 4th down in range until we can't. Turnovers will be big in these games. I don't know if we have lost a game this year we didn't turn the ball over.

    Thank You.
One game. So out of 7 losses one game. I like my odds on that then. Don't turn the ball over.

Record when the Steelers have 0 giveaways: 7-1
Record when the Steelers have a turnover: 3-6

...but in two of those wins the Steelers were +4 (NE) and +5 (Ind) in turnover differential.

One thing I'm seeing in the playoffs, teams using MOF ... often.

Texans D gave up over 200 yards and two passing TDs against Geno Snith and the Raiders so it won’t be an impossible task for the offense to score, hopefully but with us it is never easy.
