OK, Holy Crap!!!! I don't know who won the Cam contract. Steelers or Cam.

$1.6 million incentive: if he posts eight sacks, and the Steelers make the postseason.
$1.6 million incentive: 11.5 sacks, and the Steelers win a playoff game.

NOW>>> FOR why the Steelers may have won this.
if Heyward doesn’t play more than 30 percent of Pittsburgh’s defensive snaps in 2025, his 2026 roster bonus will drop to $875,000 from $12.95 million.

That $13 million to $875 thousand is a hell of a drop if Heyward gets injured this year.

Im sure they will send me an opportunity but I suspect this is in the end zone

I have one of the 8 best seats in the stadium

    Necro post

When Cam redid his contract I thought he was planning on retiring next year

Then as he had a good season I predicted another sit in until he renegotiated his last year

Now that he made second team All Pro I’m predicting an off season contract extension

I’m also predicting one or more bone heads will suggest trading him

    End of necro post

As was pretty clear when it was signed, no bonus money for Cam.

This was the team politely saying "we aren't giving you any money". Just a token so he didn't feel bad.

Cam stepped up in a big way for Ravens game. He needs to repeat that.

A trend in our recent playoffs losses is Cam going MIA.

I actually believe it's because of the same thing Watt goes through. Most teams spend most resources on Watt, and Heyward, but with Highsmith playing like he has lately, it's putting a bind on the OLs now. If they can keep at it we can cause havoc. We shall see.

I think Harmon's been's effective when healthy, too. Teases memories of having a strong front three and two OLBs that can bring some heat.

My theory; refs allow A LOT more holding in the playoffs. They just do not call it unless it's egregious.

And during the Steelers playoffs from 2017 onward, the Steelers have had some of the fewest beneficial penalties called.

Breakdown of regular season / playoff beneficial penalty rates:

    2017 - 7th most / 2nd fewest
    2020 - 2nd most / 4th fewest
    2021 - 2nd most / #1 fewest
    2023 - 6th fewest / #1 fewest
    2024 - 5th most / #3 fewest

I'm usually not a conspiracy theorist but this trend is hard to ignore.

If Highsmith could tackle the last game would not have been a cardiac issue

Agreed, I just didn't bring him up because he's the newest at this, and I don't expect as much from him.
