Based on watching the playoff games, my initial impression on Chambliss as a pro prospect is in between what I’m seeing here. I think there’s a point in the 3rd round (maybe late second) where he becomes a very attractive lottery ticket. I think AQL’s assessment is harsh, but there are still some good observations there on his potential weaknesses. I think saying he is worth a late 1st is a stretch. I think the chances of him being a Tyrod Taylor type of backup are pretty good. I’m less convinced that he has a decent probability of being a good long term starter. But, that’s just based on watching games on live TV. Hopefully I’ll have time to dig more deeply.

Kiper has him the 4th ranked QB in the draft.

That is where I'd put him. If he's around in round 2, maybe we take a shot?

I really like him a lot. He can run but only does so when there's no other option. He's got a live accurate arm, can throw from the pocket, can throw on the run. I would be happy to see him in Black and Gold next year.

It would be a wild rise for that kid. Go from 0 star recruit to D2 champ at Ferris State, transfer to Ole Miss, get the starting job due to an injury early in the season, then ball your way out to the final 4 and get drafted. Good for that kid.

The part that intrigues me is his character and leadership as well. Idk. The more I see about the kid, the more I like about him. There are true size limitations, but that's been overcome before. We would have to get an offensive style to match his game (probably heavy PA, heavy RPO type), but it could work. We will see what happens with his appeal and what his true draft stock is. I bet it varies pretty wildly from team to team.
