I would be monitoring Buffalo this week. If they get bounced, I’m almost sure McDermott gets fired. That’s the job Harbaugh should want.

I think they lose at Jacksonville, the Jags are my Superbowl pick.

I'm obviously in the minority here, but I don't think Harbaugh is anything special. He has managed to lose a bunch of games where they had huge leads where Henry got very few second half carries.

Not sure they can't do better. We'll see

I do find it hilarious that he and Stefanski got fired, but Zac Taylor still has a job

Burrow is not happy there but he does like playing for Zac. They may be afraid they will lose Burrow if they fire Zac.

I just wonder if the Giants and/or the Raiders are going to swing for the fences here. Both franchises seem desperate for stability and culture. I imagine Harbaugh will be going to one of these clubs, with the other swinging for Tomlin, Matt LaFleur, or Sean McDermont, even of it requires a trade. About the only redeeming quality the Raiders has is the potential to work for Tom Brady.

And with the exception of the Ravens gig, this just feels like a year for retreads.

Talking of firings, Tomlin’s not getting fired even if we get blown out this weekend

he’ll quit or finish out his contract next season.

In the back of his mind I suspect he knew that the loser of the game was probably going to be fired. While Harbaugh might be his tormentor, he certainly respected the man as a coach. And perhaps there is a bit of prescience for Tomlin in how it might end for himself.

btw, a fun idea; Harbaugh to coach the LVR. Bros battling it out twice a year... must see TV.

Harbaugh feels like a Falcons hire to me. Talented young roster in a soft division. Just waiting for a solid HC.

Blank is getting old, he's going to want to go with a proven guy. They aren't available all that often.

Is Harbaugh really an upgrade over McDermott?

I disagree that he is more lucky than good. Was Harbaugh lucky that the extra point was missed? If my aunt had male parts, she’d by my uncle.

Do I have my criticisms of Tomlin? Sure, we all do. But let’s not act like he isn’t good.

If you want to blame Cincinnati and Cleveland’s records on injuries, just remember what Tomlin did with Rudolph (after getting his head smacked with a helmet), Duck, Trubisky, KFP, Fields, and Wilson.

There were rumblings on Reddit about 2 months ago about friction between Lamar and Harbaugh, supposedly from a jilted Raven girlfriend. Seems to revolve around Monken, and Harbaugh's refusal to get rid of him.

Heard he lost the locker room.

Likely apparently threw a good riddance Harbaugh party which is kind of ****ty.

Harbaugh ran his course. I never really thought much of him.
The undefeated string in preseason was a huge joke, and he did run scores up in preseason, teams don't forget that.
I like the Ravens front office though.

So, to reflect on Harbaugh's firing, it's 'Meh' with me.
Comparing to Tomlin - Tomin is in his 19th season and despite the no playoff stuff, that's quite remarkable. I do think 19 seasons is an eternity in the NFL and the elevation to a playoff winner is on the shoulder of the Front Office and Tomlin... Change would not be a bad thing.

Steelers are not firing Tomlin. Unless Tomlin wants to go in a mutually part ways scenario, he is coaching the Steelers in 2026 regardless of the Monday outcome.

And no, I don't see him going to an AFCN rival, ever.

I don’t know… The Ravens have had a top 5 roster pretty every year in the past decade IMO (though I am less sold on Lamar than most). I think Harbaugh has generally done less with more in the postseason than just about any coach in the past decade. If you buy into Lamar’s “greatness” (I know that you don’t personally), then it’s very clear that he has not been up to the challenge in a while. We may see them hire a guy who is better able to win with the really good rosters that their front office puts together year after year.

Of course Harbaugh likely had a key role in building those rosters, so there’s that.

Ive been saying that hes a better coach when he has real coordinators and delegates more. But he has to be willing to step back and let them do what they are hired to do.

I would love to see a bonafide DC brought in.
