In tomlins interview after the game Tomlin didn't seem to excited that we won Imo. He said he was looking forward to what the future brings and what was ahead but didnt really eloborate.. Hopefully he's made his mind up and is .moving on after the season.

I think Tomlin moves on no matter what happens. IMO. Also hoping so. I thought it was time for 2/3 years now.

In 2020 the Browns hired Stefanski coach and Berry GM.

Since then, the Browns have made the playoffs twice.

In 2022 Berry traded a boatload of picks for Deshaun Watson and gave him an fully guaranteed contract that has him with a $80M+ cap hit in 2026.

The fact that Stefanski is unemployed and Berry still the GM is why the Browns are the Browns.

You sum it up pretty well.

Berry should have been fired, but the owner isn't going to fire the guy that made the deal that the owner wanted. Somebody needs to be the fall guy because Haslam is never going to admit that he is the biggest part of the problem. That fall guy is Stefanski.

Is the Michigan job still open?

I imagine if he wants to continue coaching, he’ll be hired pretty quickly.

I actually kinda hope John Harbaugh takes the Raiders job. Let him and his brother piss and moan together in the AFCW .

Two time coach of the year… they went to the playoffs twice under him. The team sucks, but that’s not entirely his fault as the GM/Owner shipped off Mayfield and then proceeded to trade 3 years of draft picks for Watson who ended up sucking. Berry has also made a good number of bad signings (Jeudy, Njoku, Clowney, etc.) their lack of draft picks have hollowed out their offense (OL bad, WR’s bad) and their defense is propped up by elite play from Garrett and Wardn who turn 31 and 29 respectively before or during the 2026 season. They also don’t have a viable QB (thanks to the Watson trade and their draft picks Gabriel and Sanders not being that great). Their job will not be very sought after. Certainly feels like a squad that young talent wouldn’t want (unless it’s a young DC).

Stefanksi will likely be viewed as the top HC candidate for this hiring cycle, and probably should be pretty picky with where he wants to go. He doesn’t HAVE to take a job this year, and could sit on the sidelines as an assistant somewhere and then try for a better job that might open up the year after. I would think he’d be a solid candidate to coach here in Pittsburgh if MT decided he wanted a break from Coaching.

Mendoza is very religious. Him going to sin city (outside of football) would be a square peg in a round hole.

Harbaugh will likely be more sought after by a team that wants proven track record at HC. I could see him in NY coaching the Giants or in Miami if they fire McDaniel. The NYG job seems better since they have a quality young QB… but idk. The Raiders also just had a bad experience with an old “great” coaching Pete Carroll, so maybe they try someone younger. Just me speculating though.

You will read about Tomlin very soon. I think its best if he moves on. He is likely tired anyways. 19 years is a very long time to be a coach in the NFL. This will actually be good for everyone. We can see what it would be like having a different football mind. We might even regret Tomlin has moved on. Who knows what the future holds.

I would assume that a playoff win does trigger an extension. At the very least we’re picking his option up for 2027 and have preliminary extension talks. I would still keep the extension short if possible though, maybe 2 years? A lot of it comes down to what Tomlin wants as well, because this year was the first year he’s gotten some public heat for underperformance and he might want to step away from coaching altogether for a couple years.

Another one and done embarrassment would be some level of potential for a firing or mutual parting of ways. There are a few good candidates out there right now and it wouldn’t be a bad time to be looking for a HC. We’d also have a pretty sought after job since the Rooney’s wouldn’t be trigger happy on firing.

Did you hear Muth's comments after the game and being in the playoffs? Kinda cryptic about "wanting to win one for the coach", like it was the last dance.

Harbaugh can have any of the open jobs he wants.

He will be the first domino

    then Stafanski.

then the rest will be left over.
