Potential Divisional Round Opponents...

I know a lot of work still has to be done and the Steelers have to beat a very good Texans team here next Monday night, but I always like to look ahead. And since we will be watching both AFC games on Sunday next week since the Steelers play on Monday night here are the possibilities of who and where the Steelers potentially will play on divisional weekend if they get by the Texans and advance to the final 4 in the AFC.

IF JACKSONVILLE BEATS BUFFALO AND THE PATRIOTS BEAT THE CHARGERS THE STEELERS PLAY AT DENVER.

IF JACKSONVILLE BEATS BUFFALO AND THE CHARGERS BEAT THE PATRIOTS THE STEELERS PLAY AT JACKSONVILLE.

IF BUFFALO BEATS JACKSONVILLE AND THE PATRIOTS BEAT THE CHARGERS THE STEELERS PLAY AT NEW ENGLAND.

IF BUFFALO BEATS JACKSONVILLE AND THE CHARGERS BEAT THE PATRIOTS THE STEELERS WILL PLAY BUFFALO AT HOME.

So, there is a chance the Steelers could play at home in the divisional round against Josh Allen and the Bills if both the Bills and Chargers win on the road this weekend and the Steelers beat the Texans. The NFL to be fair would have to put whoever the Steelers play if they do get by the Texans as the Sunday game and not the Saturday game on divisional weekend to give them the extra day. It would be grossly unfair if they gave the Steelers the Saturday game on divisional weekend with only 4 days really to prepare. So, if the NFL wants to have one game on a Monday night on wildcard weekend which I absolutely hate then you better do the fair and right thing and schedule the team who wins that game to play Sunday and not Saturday in the divisional round the following week. But very interesting and it will be a lot of fun to keep an eye on heading into next week about the possibilities of who the Steelers will get if they win their game here with Houston next Monday night.

 

Just stop with this crap let's play the Texans first before worrying about the next round .

 

Steelers have to beat Texans first... which is a monumental task. I'd rather Steelers go on the road vs Jaguars, Broncos or Patriots... than face Josh Allen at Acrisure. Allen PWNS the Steelers D.

 

No it's fine I can look ahead if I want too nothing wrong with it at all. I don't get why this bothers people so damn much. I think it's very worthwhile and fun to look ahead at who they will play next round especially seeing that the game is on Monday night and the Steelers and us fans get a chance to watch both of those games on Sunday afternoon and Sunday night and see how it all unfolds.

 

Early prediction right now I think the Bills beat the Jags and the Patriots beat the Chargers and the Steelers beat the Texans and go to New England in the divisional round.

 

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Beating the Texans will be no easy task.

Of the options you listed, Buffalo is the last team I want to play.

 

He's a fan looking at a scenario, not a Steelers coach or player looking ahead and ignoring the next game. It's fine for a fan to discuss this on a discussion board

While I agree with you, I also thought the same things about the Lions game and the Rats game (the first Rats game too).

And I thought we'd win the Browns game pretty handily despite missing DK.

Edited to add: I also remember posting something like "Can we play all our games on Monday at home" after the Miami game. Not sure if our Monday night voodoo works in the playoffs...but I'm interested to find out.
