If Tomlin can get the monkey off his back and win round 1 I could believe in a run.

This! Even if the Steelers had given up a 2nd, they still had enough draft capital to move back into the 2nd round if they wanted to. Trading for Myers was a no-brainer IMO.

Maybe so. There aren’t any teams in the AFC that I would consider unbeatable. All of them have flaws. Would be nice to have the other home teams lose and give us another home playoff game with a win.

We'll see if Rodgers has it in him. Granted our WRs are pretty weak outside of DK. But AR is having his worst season as a starter in terms of passing yards per game at just barely over 200. Way too many passes in the dirt or completely missing wide open receivers. If this team is going to win even 1 game against a legit playoff caliber team (Balt wasnt it) then AR is going to have to be way more effective throwing the ball. Last night was his highest yardage output of the season but he had to throw the ball 47 times and didn't even break 300 yds. BTW, the steelers have only beaten one team this year who is currently in the playoffs. And that win was 3 1/2 months ago when the Patsies were still trying to figure out who they were, which was also 2 weeks after NE lost to the worst team in the league (raiders).

Buffalo is the one team I don’t think we could beat. Allen has our number.

Yeah...of all teams remaining, Bills/Allen are the only team Steelers wouldn't have any chance of winning. Maybe Seahawks, too. If Steelers put 60 minutes of good football together... they can beat any other team remaining in the AFC & NFC.

Buffalo will be at home and we all know Tomlin sandbagged in the regular season against them just for this exact reason

Khan wasn't going to part with a second round pick for Meyers who was in the last year of his contract, I think Jacksonville extended him after the trade.

Buffalo is a wild card team I think they would have to play on the road as the #6 seed.

They don’t but they need more than what he can give vs a good team.

And the Steelers could have extended him as well. Kahn put us in this situation in the first place by trading Pickens without a plan to replace him.

I like the list and agree that I'm not sold on Denver and Bo Nix. I also don't think their defense is quite as good as advertised. Doesn't mean I think they are bad, just not elite.

Texans on the other hand definitely have an elite defense. But if the Steelers can keep it close and get the ball out quick, maybe that is something that the Texans will have trouble with. They feast on QBs trying to drop back and sling it.

It was reported that the Steelers went after Myers. It was even reported that the Steelers matched the Jags offer. Whether or not that's true, who knows. But I'm guessing the Steelers would have also extended Myers contract had a trade been made. Completely unique situation. The rule of thumb you're referring to applies to players already on the roster.

Meyers and Shaheed both got traded for multiple picks it was reported the Steelers thought the asking price was too high.
