Hello all. New poster. I just came on here to get some feedback. Dont know if this has already been posted but it seems the Steelers are looking at the possibility of moving on from Tomlin and vetted Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman to replace him. I know Freeman just signed an extension with ND and probably wont leave them now but has anyone heard more on this or anything more about the Steelers and Tomlin possibly parting ways?

Report: Steelers Vetted Marcus Freeman as Potential Mike Tomlin Successor

ND Grad/Steelers fan, I mentioned this on another thread with Notre Dame’s endowment and what they just extended him for, Pittsburgh can’t afford that type of money - no way Marcus Freeman is coming to the Steelers.

These rumors are just click bait, but Tomlin makes a reported $16M year. How much is Freeman making?

Welcome and and great taste in football teams!

SI had mentioned Freeman but not based on any inside information, just who they thought might be a replacement for Tomlin.

He wasn’t going anywhere even if they lost. Plenty of scapegoats to hover over.

    Yeah, Tomlin isn't going anywhere.
The earliest we would be replaced would be after the 2026 season.
All bets are off should Tomlin himself decide this is his best piece of work and rides off to the booth or shows. That's a long shot too.

I'm not a big fan of NFL teams hiring college coaches. But I think Freeman would be a great fit. He would easily make the top 3 on my coaching wishlist.

Mike Tomlin isnt going anywhere. I wouldn't be suprised if Freeman interviews for other NFL openings.
