I am pondering the draft as it is fork fork time. We are almost done. And even if we beat the Ravens we are only going to add to Tomlin loss total in the playoffs.

Do we draft a QB high? Like In round 1 or 2? Landing Menzoda or Simpson will cost us a lot of draft capital via trade up. Like our #1 and #2 in this draft and next seasons #1 and #2.

And many of the QBs that could go pro, are doing well financially in college. The NFL has a real problem now the QB's in college are making some serious coin.

So what the heck do we do? Well-- Will Howard performed as well and any QB playing in college football today, particularly in his last four games. He should have started in place of Rudy but did not did not. And he showed some good signs in camp before a hand was injured.

So I would invest heavily in WR, while using a high pick on Guard. Use our #2 pick on Mateer if he enters the 2026 draft and is then for us in round two? I say yes, but give long odds of that happening.

Right now I want the Steelers to beat the Ravens. Plenty of time to talk draft after the season.

This. I've been as gloom-and-doom as almost anyone, but all I'm focused on is Sunday night.

Okay, I've thought a little of a playoff game with Metcalf back on offense, and a defense that could potentially be at full strength.

Regular season may be coming to a close but the Playoffs should be exciting. AFC is wide open IMO minus AFCN winner and NFC the same minus NFCS winner.

I kind of hope Bryce Young leads the Panthers to NFCS title. Should be a close game. And if Bryce goes down we can see a future Steeler QB Andy Daulton;) Hey he is only 38.

We have a host of picks this yr.....
    I believe 3 thirds, 2 fourths, 2 six rounders and 2 7th rounders, while having 1 each in the 1st, 2nd and 5th....

A lot of what we do will depend on Broderick Jones 5th yr option....
If we decline it, then this is absolutely the yr to replace him...

As far as qb is concerned, I still hang my hat on Will Howard, but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in some mid round competition, and we absolutely need help in the secondary

Here's my pipe dream hope early on:

    1. LSU CB Mansoor Delane
    2. Ore. OT Isiah "all" World
3a. S. Car. Wr Nyck Harbor
3b. If he's available and doesn't return to school for a 6th yr, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Old Miss. QB Trinidad Chambliss
    3c. Fla DT Caleb Banks
    4a. S. Car. S Jalon Kilgore
4b. Penn St OG Olaivavega Loane
    5. Wash. Cb Tacario Davis

6th and 7th rds. Best player available

We arent getting anything for fields and wilson. I would be surprised if we get anything above a 4th for Moore. So basically only 2 3rd round picks

They should get a 3rd for Moore it's based on him getting a big contract from the Titans, he also started 15 games this season for them.

Pittsburgh Steelers Projected 2026 NFL Draft Picks. As of January 3, 2026 (following the completion of the 2025 regular season), the Pittsburgh Steelers are projected to have a strong haul in the 2026 NFL Draft, which will be held April 23–25 in Pittsburgh. The team enters with their standard seven picks, plus extras from trades and compensatory selections based on 2025 free agency losses.Current Projected Picks (Total: Up to 12)The Steelers stockpiled capital intentionally in 2025 by netting significant free agent losses (e.g., Dan Moore Jr., Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, James Daniels, Donte Jackson, Najee Harris) while minimizing qualifying signings. However, playing time and performance for departed players impacted some values late in the season.
    • Round 1: Own pick (projected mid-to-late first round, around No. 18–22, based on a competitive 2025 season with Aaron Rodgers at QB but no playoff deep run).
    • Round 2: Own pick.
    • Round 3: Own pick
      • From Dallas Cowboys (via May 2025 trade of George Pickens + 2027 6th for DAL's 2026 3rd + 2027 5th)
      • Compensatory (projected for Dan Moore Jr., valued as a high 3rd/4th based on snaps and contract).
    • Round 4: Own pick
      • Compensatory (projected, adjusted from earlier Justin Fields projections due to his limited play/injury with the Jets).
    • Round 5: Own pick
      • Compensatory (projected, from Russell Wilson or similar).
    • Round 6: Own pick
      • Compensatory (projected, from James Daniels/Donte Jackson/Najee Harris group).
    • Round 7: Own pick.
    Notes on Projections:
    • Total often cited as 12 picks, including 3 in Round 3 (own + DAL trade + comp).
    • Compensatory picks (max 4 per team)
    • No known additional trades affecting 2026 as of now, though you never know we could trade Tomiln :hehehe:.

If Vega lasts to Round 4, that has to be a massive medical red flag. Character issues as well but I personally haven't found anything that would constitute Vega as a Character Risk. Way too clean off the field.

As far as the First Round Option?! I will be shocked if Mansoor is still on the board. He is by far the most scheme versatile Corner in the class. Talents like that don't come around too often and while he doesn't possess elite athletic gifts, he does possess elite level ball skills to go with rock solid fundamentals and discipline in a multi array of coverages. Mansoor is Top 15 at worst and Top 10 at best.

Truth be told, i'm pretty sure most of the players I have listed will be long gone before the slots that I have us grabbing them

I wouldn't worry about either Isaiah World or even Nyck Harbor if I were you. The former is very much likely an IOL anyways for I don't believe that 6-8 is his official height and the latter still hasn't fully developed to being a reliable overall WR and is far too much of an athlete and not enough of being a Football Player to take a gamble on. Trinidad I am not nearly as impressed with as others are but you are correct on Caleb Banks. To me, Banks will be Top 15 as his overall athletic profile, skillset and potential are simply way too much to ignore.

If Harbor runs anywhere near the 4.2 he's projected to at his freakish size, he will absolutely be overdrafted by somebody who is enamored of his physical gifts

Just read he actually is returning to school. I guess we were both wrong about him declaring for this season.

Oh I most definitely will for both counts.

Kendal Briles and Randy Clements are gonna be big hires for LaNorris. Time for him to put up or shut up. Same goes for Nyck.
