I've watched him play this year and he looks extremely confident. Yeah he's 5*10 But he had a heck of a year

What does 5*10 mean here? He’s not 50 years old, and he’s listed at 6’5” in height.

Like what I’ve seen from him, but worried he will get snapped like a twig in the nfl. He needs to put on about 20lbs of muscle

I saw his Heisman acceptance speech. He is a team guy with great character and smarts. I think his stock just went up, and he will be the first pick of the 2026 draft.

None of that has anything to do with him being 6’5” and 200lbs

You're confusing Mendoza the Heisman winner with Pavia the QB from Vanderbilt he's 5'10.

Good for us. I would prefer to see us go non-QB in the first round.

I look for us to take a CB or receiver or ILB in first round.

I don't know much about this year's CB class... I'd love one, but I also wouldn't hate it if we kept Asante Samuel Jr. and Pierre as our #2 and #3 CB's and Echols in the slot. Those guys are a pretty solid group. I'd take a shot on someone like Igbinosun from OSU in the 3rd in this scenario. I'd also make sure we stay stocked at S (getting Elliot back and keeping Dugger) to make sure that Ramsey can move into the slot sometimes would help too.

ILB looks good if we get Styles or Hill.

I REALLY want a quality WR. A big DT would be awesome too (McDonald looks awesome).

he sure carved up the buckeye's and then bama. i'd take the kid but he will be long gone by our pick. i'm in the sonny styles camp at ILB and i wouldn't be opposed to Mac Jones being picked up. let the chips fall between he and mason and skylar and howard.

The play yesterday where he scrambled to the right and drilled a dime to his WR 20+ yards downfield near the sideline didn’t just look “systematic.” But I will say that he does look physically limited, and what’s going on between his ears will be the foundation of his success or lack thereof at the NFL level. There have been great NFL QBs who have had “meh” physical attributes, but I don’t think you can really judge how well they’ll master the NFL game mentally based on just college tape. The NFL teams will need to really dig into his mind in interviews. Right now his intangibles look exceptional. Let’s see how they hold up throughout the CFP.

A lot of this is why I haven't thought he is a premier QB prospect. He is a good player, but he is going to be a scheme dependent player. I don't see any traits that scream "this is what will set me apart at the next level". He has NFL average arm talent, average athletically, poor out of structure and under pressure, and will likely only be a viable option in RPO and West Coast offenses. He's going to be a timing and rhythm player that will look really bad when it isn't there and look darn good when it is. To me, he has a lot of Mason Rudolph to his game. Kirk Cousins a bit too. He will be "NFL ready" to an extent, but I don't think he has the overall talent to be a top 10 passer in the NFL. I could be wrong of course (lots of QB's have turned out to be good players that "shouldn't" have been on paper going into the draft), but for QB's of the past 5 years I think he would be rated ahead of only Anthony Richardson and Kenny Pickett for me. Though, to be fair, 4th round grade is pretty rough. I like him better than that lol

He solidified his standing as the #1 pick in the draft yesterday.

Mr. Kelly was a scout for the New York Jets. You know that team that is known to draft players well [IMG] Might we see some of his draft reviews before the player enters the NFL? I could use a chuckle.

Anyway, I like to think my track record on QB's is solid. I was anti Pickett, and for trading up a spot to draft Bo Nix.

Mendoza is the most ready and top QB talent this year.

I think he is worth our first round pick. This guy says he has a 4th round grade on him.

It must be the IU coach, and WR's that make him look so good. Maybe his OC is great too.

He is high floor NFL player.

Idk. He played well, but man was it easy (I think Alabama is just not that good). I think the showdown between him and Moore might have something to do with who goes first, though it will likely come down to what type of player the team drafting wants. Do you want a CJ Stroud or poor man's Caleb Williams? Or a Kirk Cousins or poor man's Jared Goff type? They are very different players and will be coveted far differently by teams based on style.

Nobody takes that guy seriously on X he trashes just about every QB, there's a reason he's a former scout :hehehe:.
