I agree with you (Maye) - but there's something about him. He gives off that vibe like Goat used to. Way early, but he's one to watch for sure.

Yes Metcalf shouldn't have engaged with that dumb @ss in which he has some history with that dupe.

He commands attention. He is game planed for. A loss for sure. And I agree he would have made a difference to a possible win.

But, the real issue is who the %^*& is our true #2 receiver? One that can command respect from opposing defenses as well? Crickets...

This to me is the bigger issue. And the Roman Wilson miss has not helped.

And we have two castoffs in MVS and Thielen.

Was their no worries about a #2 because Smith wanted to utilize as many tight ends as he could? They propped up Austin III to be the #2 but lets be real now, Nice player but... To me the Jonnu Smith signing was a waste. It put Muth on a milk carton. The tight end that they just signed to a nice deal.

If we lose the Metcalf suspension will be the convenient excuse. But it goes deeper then that...

I would suggest that after DK, Washington is a huge loss, not only in the passing game ,but in the running game.
Ask Your self this, and do it honestly. If any team lost there 2 biggest weapons on Offense , and one of their biggest weapons on Defense, and they lost their game, would you count that as excuses??

The run defense has been too inconsistent they did shutdown the Colts and Lions running game, but the game against the Bills was embarrassing.

Players are allowed to improve and considering Black and Benton are on rookie contracts they return in 2026. They probably need to draft two DL though.

Just watch if they lose how Metcalf will be on the forefront of why. You don't think so? The wheels are already turning with the media. Do you not think that he was the #1 loss? Basically what I said was why they didn't they get a true #2 receiver that defenses would respect. I feel there are no other receivers that defensive coordinators focus on. So i don't get your point.

I feel if Bags Tomlin gives his marching orders into turtle mode ala against the clowns that will be the determent.

You go for the throat right from the jump and have the ball in Rodgers hands.

I feel that Henry will have a solid day so getting up on them quick might have to change their direction. If Henry takes over the game it's over.

If you take Henry, and Mark Andrew's off of the Ravens before the game, and the Ravens lose, You don't think people will make excuses about that??

Mediocrity brings the team to that level. Like we all have on this forum change has to come to turn things around. And unfortunately the front office doesn’t care.

Yep. The money train is on the tracks and they are above the Mean

"The iconic being above the mean" appears to be an abstract or philosophical phrase, likely not a direct, well-known quote or established expression. It suggests a concept related to exceptionalism and significant cultural impact that transcends the ordinary or average (the "mean").

The gummy worm owner just bought another safe.

The Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket waitlist is famously long, with estimates often around 20 years or more, as the team has processed names since 1972 and doesn't release official numbers, though some fans report getting off the list after nearly two decades. Availability is unpredictable, but you can join the list for free on the team's website, or potentially bypass the line by buying a Stadium Builder's License (SBL) from a current holder, which grants perpetual season ticket rights.

The issue besides settling for average or mediocre as I see it and the season ending as a participation trophy presentation is the gummy worm owner is NOT a football man like his father was. He has handed the keys to all football operations to Bags Tomlin.

Can you imagine Art II picking a new head coach? :lolol:

The only saving grace will be his son Dan taking over who has been going through the total ranks.

Whether the season continues or not with another playoff shelling Art II will come out and praise Bags Tomlin. He is the top reason this continues.

When the ball was in Rodgers hands against the Browns he made bad decisions.

I think it’s more about the AFC being wide open for a change than us being a top team. If they can just get it in, anything could happen.

Especially afterwards, because whether people want to admit it or not, DK demands respect on the field, even when not getting the ball.

It matters if you value competitiveness, which I hope the pro athletes in the NFL do. The Steelers might not present much competition right now, and that is disappointing, but I hope the individual players and the team as a whole never give up in any situation and never stop having a competitive nature, regardless of how bad things look.

This is a good assessment, have to give the coaching staff credit for fixing it. Kudos to Tomlin on that.

They recognized the coach they hired was a poor choice and didnt waste time making changes. They saw Vabrel available and did what was necessary. They could have very easily blamed the roster for the teams lack of success and stood pat with Mayo as HC. Would have been a terrible decision. They went from back to back 4-13 seasons to 13-3.

The previous regime did get one thing right, they drafted Maye and the new regime started a rebuild right away. I imagine WR will be very high on the list this draft and it’s a good one for it. Boutte would be a fine #2 but they need a stud #1. Then watch that offense really take off.

NE is going to be a thorn in our side again.

The North was unusually blah this year, and yet here we are heading into week 18 with a classic matchup of the proverbial division titans. I do agree with the "get in and anything can (and often does) happen. Fingers and toes crossed the Steelers can make some noise.

it doesn't matter how many playoff games other teams win or lose---It should only matter how many the:steelflag:win or lose. Being static ---------- is Not what I want ---do you Steeler fans--- so either win or go Tomlin take your Static elsewhere ..OR start being the Championship Coach you should be..INJURIES AND THIS or that is B.S--T..just figure out how to adapt and overcome--- the fans are tired of living in the city of losers...

This season and a deep post season run always depended on AR finding some kind of fountain youth and Watt leading the defense with his havoc.

    Idk, yet to see it.

if we don't make it out of the ravens game with a win, im going to look at the cleveland game as another wasted opportunity. A very winnable game against a 3 win team, even without DK. It will rank up there with the 2017 jacksonville and 2021 cleveland debacles.
