There are a lot of story lines here with games within a game

This will be a great test to see if the rookies on the D line can stop Henry and not get too tired early.

The good news is that the Ravens D hasnt been exactly circa 2001. ha

The weather isnt supposed to be terribly bad so not sure if there is an advantage either way

As many of you have pointed out we have a WR corps badly depleted and Mt Washington played a large roll in the running game.

LJ has not really looked comfortable all year so hopefully it continues.

    Thoughts? Concerns?

    Concerns? Lol

    I have a few.

If the Ravens pound with Henry we are in trouble.

Without DK and Washington we have the worst offense in the NFL.

    Mike Tomlin is the HC.

This will be a bloodbath. My top concerns are will the refs get out of the way and let the teams decide or will it be a game of bizarre calls and noncalls? In the end will Harbaugh get cute and try a thunder and lightning approach like he did weeks ago or will he realize like he did Saturday that Henry is his biggest weapon and ride him into the playoffs?

Yeah...I seen on Reddit where both Steeler/Raven fans were admitting this will not be a classic title game. ha

I have a feeling that both coaches would go for a 2 pt conversion as defenses would be gassed.

I'd say, after literally admitting he made a mistake last time by not featuring Henry - that he'd be punching his ticket to the unemployment line if he doesn't this time.

Steelers likely get beat by 2 scores in this one.

Not enough weapons and they are likely to have the lesser QB play.

My prediction is that the Steelers will look to their previous games to see what has worked and what has not worked. We will then try and surprise the Ravens by doing the exact opposite of what has worked in previous games. Why? Because doing something obvious like passing to an open Friermuth in the middle of the field is going to be what the Ravens expect, so we won't do it.

Honestly, we are in trouble IMO.

Washington was a key for our run game and will almost certainly be out. Smith seems afraid to let Friermuth be involved for an entire game. Rodgers is going to throw it to his glory days buddies (even when they are not producing) come hell or high water for some reason. The only bright side is that Rodgers doesn't have to dink and dunk to avoid giving the sack record to Garrett. Maybe he will show up as a QB this game. Roman Wilson is going to hand out water on the sideline (would really love to know what is going on there).

I have more hope for the defensive side of the ball. They have had sporadic success. I don't think Lamar is going to run much due to injuries as he can't afford more going into the post season. If there is a big spot he will absolutely run, but this game should see Henry chasing a big game on the ground, not Lamar. If we can slow Henry down, it won't get out of control on the score at least. Flowers has been shut down a lot this season (one week I got negative .3 points from him on my fantasy team). We need to see what was putting him out of the picture other than Lamar being out.

There are two possibilities with Roman Wilson.

One is that he stinks and is too dumb to get his assignments down in practice and therefore no one wants him to see the field.

The other is that Aaron Rodgers is freezing out a young inexperienced player for issues with the execution of his assignments. Rodgers did it in Green Bay to multiple young WRs. Early in his career, Rodgers didn't like throwing to Davante Adams. Then Adams perfected his technique, him and Rodgers became darkness retreat buddies or whatever, and Rodgers started throwing to like only him. Rodgers didn't like throwing to Wilson on the Jets. That dude is pretty good. Later in his career in GB, Rodgers didn't like throwing to Watson. Dude is now a monster.

After hearing Mr. Word Salad's take on RW, I'd say it's more of the first.

However, in defense of the 2nd (and understand I'm not an AR fan) - he has always been a perfectionist when it comes to the passing game. So perhaps he views it as "Hey kid, you're in the pros now. You should already know how to run routes, know about the red line, and you know, not do stupid things with the ball when you do get it. So I'm not gonna hold your hand." And he's not wrong.

No sh*t. lol. It borders on delusional the way some seem to ignore the reality of just how bad we suck.

My overall concern is that our HC sucks d*ck at his job, this roster is mediocre at best, and I truly believe that the Ravens are going to dry bang us without any lube on national television.

All that aside, I’ll be sure to have my popcorn ready.

If it is his brain that is holding him back, he must be the guy pounding the square peg into the round hole if he does not know the play book to perfection. A WR has some huge potential earnings. With 2 years and not much to do other than watch, he should be the most well studied guy in the WR room as he did what he could to hone his skills in pursuit of a big payday. I would hope that the Steelers did not pick a 3rd round pick that is that stupid or just too lazy to put in even the most minimal of effort.

Good take. I don't know what the rap was on him coming out of college, I'm sure the draft gurus here will fill that part in. But... he was 3rd round, there had to be a reason. We're known for reaching deep and getting players that have some sort of "tarnish" on them.

I am no draft expert. What I was told was that Wilson was regarded as the best route runner in the class. I think the concerns were over his overall size and his ability to navigate zone coverage as a pro. Most of the dings I heard were that he won't do much as a blocker and he has a poorly developed feel for the game because Michigan's offense was so basic.

No idea how true any of that is.

If this goes like previous game...Harbaugh will have something game planned up on offense that is going to catch the Steelers off guard for the first quarter or two.

It is essential the Steelers score early to keep pace until the defense catches on and starts shutting them down.

Do I have faith in our offense...not really.

Nice BD. Maybe stacking the box and try to make Lamar beat the D by finding seams to his TE. Flowers is so damn quick that I am surprised he doesnt tally up more YAC
