    Anyone else follow this kid?

I've posted on here that I've become somewhat depressed lately because Hines Ward has always been far and away my favorite Steeler and nobody on the roster is even close for me. Well I'm beginning to think that Shamarko may have to be the next jersey I buy.

I follow a lot of the Steelers, and they usually never post anything of substance. Here's some samples of what Thomas posts several times daily...

That kid is amazing. Wow the workout alone would kill most people. Love how determined he is. Cannot wait to see him on the field. Working out as everyone knows is only part of the preparation . He needs to spend alot of time on scheme to learn the system.

Absolutely. As we were discussing in a thread about Ziggy, the physical work can only get you so far... but the kid looks to be in mid-season form before training camp has even started.

It's times like these I hate that I'm not in PA. I'd love to watch some of these guys in camp.

Man that's weird. I was actually going to start a thread just like this yesterday, but I got pulled away. I follow him on Twitter and Instagram, and the dude is an animal. Like you said, everyday he's posting multiple pics and vids of these animal workouts. Those are meek compared to some from a few weeks ago. Here's some more~

he's not unlike ziggy, ike, will Johnson, mclendon and a few others that are working their tails off to make themselves better and the team better. this is going to pay benefits down the road for this team. something that was lacking in the old guard.

Just when I'd finally forgotten about Kemoeatu.

I'm stoked about this kid too. I wish he didn't play the same position as two of my favorite players. Since I can't hope for those guys to get hurt or go unsigned, I will hope that Thomas is beastly enough to be our top player subbed in for nickel packages. Not easy for a safety, but I think for a safety he's got good CB skills. Won't happen this year, but maybe next.

Quote on PFT from Shamarko saying he expects to be fined this year for illegal hits. Hopefully Carnell is teaching him to lower his target.

From a recent interview with him about hitting technique and fines etc-

His hitting style is explosive, and I very rarely saw him go for the safe wrap-up tackle in the games I watched, however, I think that if most safeties in the league were being truly honest, they'd probably say the same thing about getting fined.

While I certainly don't condone headheaunting (or in the new NFL, belly button and above hunting), I'm glad he doesn't plan on shying away from contact. Part of what makes a great defense is intimidation. Once a player sees someone get lit up when their in a specific players zone, they might hear the footsteps and lose their concentration. I see nothing but positives from being a feared hitter. Provided, of course, the player doesn't miss game time.

they have used triple safeties in the past, so maybe it's not so far fetched. he's got a lot to learn though. i'm pumped because of the addition of speed to our DB's. hawthorne is fast as well as shamarko and DVD. burner speed with these guys. we needed it.

Liked this quote on his page:

Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority. D_IV_G @nodaysoff_tj

I can't wait to see this guy hit somebody!

I'm just glad to see a pro athlete not using twitter to support murderers, hate jurors, and just generally exposing their own stupidity. AMEN PREACHER!!!

There is always playing time for hard workers/learners, I will bet this kid doesn't tap out. No wonder C Lake was raving about him after the draft He maybe tough to hold back, better stay healthy Troy, you maybe being replaced sooner rather than later. Can't wait to see him @training camp.EVERYBODY NEEDS A LITTLE PASSION.

Still early BFT lol.. Give him time my friend.

I really hope they start to employ personnel with better judgement but lately it seems harder to find skilled players with no BS.. ( chris rainey )

There are plenty examples of players on this team who have great character but with the social media its like they want to commit social media suicide. Egos and money are usually to blame IMHO

Yeah LOL! We need to start a "twitter watch" thread to countdown how long it's gonna be til someone makes a complete fool of their self and maybe even take odds on how long it's gonna be until they ignite another firestorm. LOL.

If one of those fines is for a hit delivered on a certain Dolphins receiver making his return to Heinz Field on December 8th, I will gladly send a personal check to Shamarko to help him pay the fine. Who's with me???

Well, I do have a problem with it actually.

It will be more meaningful if it's Clark. Welcome back to Heinz field!
