Well, it's a lot harder to have a Malice at the Palace in the NFL because the fans aren't as close to the action as the NBA.

There is no one to blame other than DK. Full stop.

Not Tomlin, not Kahn, not the fan.

I’ve seen players treated a hundred times worse and not resulting to this level.

I remember beer being thrown on Kordell.

Love and Willis may both be out. Packers QB may be someone named Tune.

I bet the NFL gave him two games knowing he will appeal then knock it down to one game and a hefty fine, at least I hope it works out that way.

This is what i'm thinking too. If Roman has any game, he has to show it these two games.

Although..I would not line him up on the outside anymore. That didn't work. Let him work the middle of the field. See what he can do...

That stupid fan should never be allowed in an NFL stadium. **** him. Tired of these scumbag fans thinking they can just do whatever they want.

    This.

It has to be a two-way street. You can't hold the players to a standard and just say "Oh well, the fans pay money, so anything goes!".

The final piece of the guy's statement to the press told me everything I needed to know about him: "I just want the Lions to win, baby."

Who says that to the press when trying to come across as just some innocent bystander? That just screamed "dbag" to me. I know his type.

I don’t disagree with that, but dumb ass DK had no business engaging with the fan.

The NBA handles this type of situation the right way if a player points out a rude fan to security, he gets escorted out of the arena.

DK was 100% wrong, it was a selfish act and put himself in front of the Team. If the fan was on the field and went after him, different story but not how that went down.

My other gripe is that we have 2 3rd round picks that have contributed very little this year. The coaching staff at these positions WR & RB need to try and maximize value. We should have enough to beat the Browns next week between the veteran WRs, TEs and RBs. Hopefully the Packers have enough incentive to beat the Ravens and end this madness.

One other comment, DK has been doing this **** all season on the field and when he was in Seattle. The front office needs to sit him down and say it plain and simple, “stop the petty ****, we already got rid of a younger version of you twice (AB & Pickens) and we will do it again”

If it’s the 3rd rounders I’m thinking of, both have been healthy scratches of late.

Wilson will likely be active while Metcalf is suspended.

Let me just add my 2 cents on this DK issue.

2 games is out of line. I can see one, but two is overboard. Clearly the NFL wants that Steelers/Ravens game to have some drama. Not like he punched the guy and knocked him out. He didn't go in the stands after him either. NFL attempting to "show" everyone they mean business.

Now, as for DK. Idiot. Plain and simple. Why even go over and talk to this person? I mean if someone was yelling to him for an autograph, would he go over during a game and sign something? Somewhere I think we are not getting the whole story. So, idiot. He may cost the Steelers a playoff chance.

Now comes the real issue with me. Why did Tomlin continue to let him play? Surely he knew what had happened. I am sure he heard about it at the very least, at halftime. He KNEW this was a problem and in a big way. So, why not sit him like a really good coach would do?

Let's see, on National TV we get a Steeler in quarter one flipping the bird to someone on the sidelines and then we get DK throwing a punch at a fan during a timeout and it is broadcast all over. Is this the standard? Rooney should have dialed in and told Tomlin to sit these guys, period, since he did not have the fortitude to do it himself. Now, that would have sent a message and maybe, just maybe the NFL might have considered Tomlin's action when handing out the punishment and opted for only one game.

So, as stupid as these guys were, Tomlin gets an F in the coaching department for no discipline. He should have read them the riot act on the sideline for all to see, then tell them to grab some pine for the remainder of the game.

He may be active, but even Scotty Miller is ahead of him on roster.

DK is also appealing the suspension, so it may get reduced to 1 game.

    They completely 'oversentenced' here.

    Breakdown:

2 game suspension and loss of pay

Loss of 40m in future guaranteed money.

Rutan 74, while I agree and even if Tomlin would have shown the Moxie the League would have still handed out the punishment they did, so I am glad they got the win. You however bring up a larger question about OWNERSHIP and the Rooneys and what is important to them and what do they want the Steeler’s organization to reflect. I get on Tomlin a lot and I am not a fan, but if I was in his shoes in this game I would have done the same thing in regards to these 2 actions. I am starting to question who is running the ship and I am not talking about Tomlin, I mean ownership.

In all honesty I see no scenario where Tomlin would have sat him in the second half. Even if he did, Goodall would have still given him 2 games.

This is a good point, next season ownership has to address discipline on this team.

    2 games :bscow:

And thats all I have to say about that.

I wonder if the Steelers will pick up Lazard now or just activate Wilson.

Tomlin would have been a complete moron for taking DK out of the game. The job of the coach is to win games, and that job becomes harder when a coach VOLUNTARILY removes his best receiver. I’m shocked you would even make such a suggestion. Pro coaches aren’t hired to teach lessons. They are paid to win.

NFL players play a violent game. The type of people who do so have a switch that the rest of us don’t have. And that switch sometimes takes them over the line. But it is also what allows them to put their bodies in harms way over and over again.

I’ve known Kyle Hamilton since he was 7 years old. His dad is also a close friend. Kyle is one of the smartest, quietest people you will ever meet…off the field. But his switch gets turned on during games and he is a completely different human being. He is still smart of course, but he is a like a caged animal during a game. Anything less than that level of intensity and he does not survive in the NFL. And Kyle is one of the best in the game. As is DK.

I’m not justifying DK’s actions, but I can understand that a person on edge for 3 hours, like every NFL player is during a game, can snap. But the coach has a responsibility to make sure the team wins. That is the only job.

FYI, had Tomlin removed DK and some other receiver screwed up, you and most of this board would have lost your collective minds.
