If anything, how I now see the suspension is that the NFL has suspended D.K. Metcalf for the remainder of the 2025 NFL Regular Season. If that is the angle at which the NFL is going, I would agree that is draconian for certain. However, I do stand with the NFL on sending a message all the same.


The NFL had to take a stand here. If left unchecked, all this would give the players is to have both the initiative and the incentive to respond to @$$hat fans however they see fit. For further information on what this could potentially lead into, again, I recommend watching "Malice At the Palace."


Different sports of course but history can repeat itself in unusual ways if given the correct factors to do so.

If I am understanding the 1st Amendment correctly, hate speech is still protected under it. If the NFL wants to get into a rock fight challenging that, I don't think it will bode well for them. In the event that the NFL does elect to, that would then set a precedent against the fans in violation of a National Law.


Given how fans are the lifeblood of the NFL, I don't think messing with someone's right to say stupid things should be high on the docket of the NFLs issues at present.
