No problem, the Pats already have "lip readers" on their staff.

OK. Fair enough. Why even do it then?

It would be funny if the players all brought in a bunch of blow up dolls and played a round of spin the bottle just to mess with the media.

Ben could take one to the rest room with him. That would make for good entertainment.

No idea, man. I think it's stupid. Though, I can already see the 'videobombing'. :-D

I hope not. It'll encourage it. How about fake injuries, to mess with opponents? Or repeatedly "accidently" dropping a towel or moving a screen in front of the camera? That's probably what I would do, until they tell me to move it, and I say okay, and then do it again, and then they tell me I have to stop it, and I say, "What, I can't put towels where I want in my own locker room?" And they say no, and I don't listen, and then they fine me and paint a red line around the camera inside which nothing can go, to make sure the camera can see everything. I'd lose, of course, but the point would be made that they are absolutely insane.

Yes! How is that still going on? With (20+?) years of that stupid question, it hasn't been answered honestly/specifically once, and they still ask it!

"Well Melissa, that interception obviously killed us, and we can't keep turning the ball over like that. We're gonna try and limit those turnovers, and get some of our own, and try and put some points up on the board." "Thanks coach!"

I'm always so embarrassed for those female (and male, for that matter) sideline reporters. They have no job. They do stuff and get paid, but they have no job. It's nothing.

Hopefully the TV advertisers will eventually force an end to this nonsense, after several embarrassing commercial lead in/outs.

I feel the same. I am on the fence as well. If Goodell weakens the game anymore, it is going to drive the REAL fan away. It is already starting. Check the stadiums this year. Check out the emptyness. With the addition of HD, the prices skyrocketing to see a game, the interest to go see it live are already an issue with the greed monger NFL.

The game still crushes all other sports. But, once all the showbiz crap gets old to the fairweather who has the attention span of a nat, and the old school fan has had enough of the pussifing of the game and all the showbiz junk, the NFL will struggle. Goodell is going to ruin the game, and it's the owners fault. They employ this @ss clown.

And this Heads Up garbage they are peddling makes me ill. The game is violent. Just pay off the old school players, take care of them, and it will go away. But the greed mongers can't have any of that. Safety right?! But lets have an 18 game schedule. Contradiction is Goodells middle name.

Welcome to Hollywood real fans. The players will have to conform to the whole cameras in the locker room crap. Another joke of the Goodell reign.

You're right, but this is no different really to any post-match interview in any sport. "Yeah we did well." "We're disappointed to lose but you have to respect the other team." Etc. etc.

With the exception of Ian Holloway, who's sophisticated use of metaphor here is a lesson to all coaches everywhere:

I'd be much more interested in a camera in Goodell's office. With audio, of course.
Way before the Cheatriots, Al Davis accused the Chargers of bugging the visiting team's locker room. He was probably right!

    in the minority here

I guess I don't see why there is all this negativity about this going on. Now I will freely admit that I am not sure of the particulars but if I remember correctly what I read about this in the press release several weeks ago each team is in charge of where they place the camera. I would think they would put it in a place where it will provide some good background shots of the locker room and little else some what like when they did they live webcam for the re sodding of the field or when they put up the rink for the Winter Classic. I look at this a test phase for the NFL to see just what is feasible as far as insider info goes. This isn't something that could be marketed to just anyone or making the game more accessible to a wide audience. This is something that has to be targeted at hard core fans to see just how much we want to know and if they can market it.

How many times have we sat here spinning our wheels in discussion after discussion about things we don't know about such as what happens at practice, what are they working on for this week, what goes into team meetings, how to the guys relate to one another. This could be a first step in getting to something like that. This is why I like the Hard Knocks series because you do get to see what goes on behind the scenes for an NFL team. Is it a distraction? possibly but if guys who spend most of their adult life in front of a camera can't take a few more interviews and a few more cameras then they are in the wrong business. Do they chop up footage to make it more dramatic and compelling? Hell yeah they do and I have to say when I watched the Bengals one a few years ago I actually got caught up in pulling for some of the guys they had as long shots. Plus I have to say there is just something about the sports documentaries that HBO does and something about Liev Schreiber's narration that just pulls you in. So yeah I like the idea of more access. I would be more likely to pay money to get a season pass to anything if it came with some nice extras like live webcasts of team practice(nothing too specific because that would be dumb) chats with players and coaches, candid moments that get put into the season highlight DVD, podcasts, and so on.

I mean come on you guys this isn't a sign of football Apocalypse and most of you who are protesting so adamantly know that the first time you hear a commercial for something Steeler related on NFL network or someone starts a thread about how they are showing this or that on ESPN classic or again NFL network, that you are running for your tv remote, I know I am. SO count me in the minority here but I say whatever. If and when it becomes arena football then maybe I will worry.

I think NFL mentioned doing this to get more fans to come to stadiums instead of watching on TV, I think the exclusive footage is only available on an Ap that somehow only broadcasts within the Stadium or something like that, not sure how it will work.

I actually wouldn't mind this...another poster said there will not be any audio, but just think if they did, and you actually got to exclusively see an awesome fire and Brimstone Speech like ala Bill Cowher???

I would take that any day of the week.
