This thread makes some of us realize how fortunate we are to be Steelers fans. Most of us complain to no end (including myself) but it is because we expect excellence.

You sound like everyone else that can't read, or understand. That's not the question. If You don't like the damn question , don't answer it, but don't try changing it . The question was when was the last time that the Steelers were out of playoff contention with 3 games left??? Not.....when did You feel like the Steelers were out of playoff contention.
    Edit:
Also if I was you, I'd stay away from betting. Just your picks , and talks from yesterday would have seen you broke. LoL

I had a great run in the survival pool this year(top 8 on over 100 people) and I was the winner in the prediction Bills vs steelers 2 week ago,so this is not that bad!

In other words... what is the earliest week(3 weeks or more) the Steelers were mathematically eliminated?

Yea, I saw a comment the other day asking which is better (or worse) - to be a Jets fan and assume every game and season will be a disaster and able to rejoice in the rare win, or be a Steelers fan and always have high expectations and be miserable about losses (and even wins if they don’t play well).

I will always root for Steeler wins. I get the talk about playoffs... I'd rather still have chances towards the end of every year. Regardless of the opponent, I have never picked the Steelers to lose

You're wasting your time with him according to him the first 11 wins of 2020 don't matter, he only counts the last five games because the Steelers went 1-4 .

Only 3 games left and I believe 20/21 teams are still in contention for a playoff spot. 9 in the AFC, and either 11 or 12 in the NFC. That's a lot of intrigue across the league for these last few weeks. Most games will have something to play for.

Yes since they up the games to 17, and added playoff spots, but the added playoff spot is only going into its 5th year, and what does that say about the teams that are already out???

I agree with you on the question.
I remove the hindsight from the equation with this thread's question. Playing to stay alive, in the present tense to those seasons, is the relevance. It has been nice to have the Steelers' games be meaningful so late in the seasons. Not happy with the current playoff win drought but just like the present, we still have something to root for.

    I totally agree.
Nobody I know is happy with the latest playoff success, but last year, or years in the past play no part on this year, for us, or any team.
Otherwise we could say right now.....We will lose the 1st round, Bills , Ravens, Texans, Jags, and Chargers won't make the SB, and since KCs is out, the last two teams that are still in to make the the SB would be the Pats , or the Broncos. Good thing it doesn't work that way.

Playoff losses aside, I would still rather have heartbreak put off until week 18, instead of having it by week 15.:smiley1:

So would most everyone, even the ones that say they rather have a few losing seasons to build for later. LoL. Yet those same people lose their freaking minds over every little loss. Hell they lose their minds if its not a easy game. Yet they claim they would be fine for a couple of 4-13 years. I call bull$hit. LoL.
Hell like people know for sure if we start down that path , we ever turn it around.
It's way easy for people to say this when the worst season they've seen in 21 years is 8-8.
