The Pittsburgh Steelers could have a big role in store for 2013 first-round pick Jarvis Jones. After getting an early look at what Jones can bring to the field, the Steelers are reportedly accepting the idea that he could become the first Steelers rookie to start on defense since 2001. The last Steelers rookies to earn a starting role on the defensive side of the ball were Kendrell Bell and Casey Hampton.

Kimo played nose tackle for us in 2000, and his play is what inspired us to draft Casey (it was not good). In 2001 Kimo went to DE and played much better, and Kendrick Clancy started at NT, and I think Casey took over around week 4 or so. As much as I liked Clancy, I think that was one of those cases where they were keeping the rookie off the field for just because they were scared to put a rookie on the field. Big Snack should have been given that job opening day. At least they didn't wait too long to plug him in.
