I had the same thing happen. I got acupuncture to my head. A needle punctured my brain and my brain collapsed. At least that's what my Navy Chief kept saying to me when he saw me foul things up in front of him.

Ah Jesus...I like him very much...but he don't help sack the quarterback.

Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can't beat double teams?

Okay, let's not start a holy war here.

But this speculation is actively blaming Rooney for Watt's injury. I would hope before making such a serious charge that we would actually have some reason to do so.

That is why I wrote that it was arguably his best game of the season, which tells you that his play has dropped off.

Ray Lewis was the first NFL player to use a dry needle although his needle had more of a blade shape to it.

This guy explains very well what happens with dry needling and the various levels of issue with regard to lung ruptures from it. 2 points he made I found interesting were that it is actually most common to occur from work on the trapezoids, not the actual chest........and that while he does not know exactly what type of surgery TJ had, he does not expect to see him back for several weeks, probably longer.

I've heard that the Cleveland game at the latest. Don't know how factual any of it is.

I keep saying that many of us are guilty of comparing TJ Watt to TJ Watt. He is still a top guy in the league. He might not be the top guy, or even in the top 5.......but he still ranks way up on that list. If we were to draft a new guy in the 1st round and he played as well as TJ is right now, people would be very happy with the pick.

It was sad to hear TJ's lung partially collapsed.
I know there's quite a few players that subscribe this this treatment.
I hate needles for any reason unless it is capped with some pennies and playing some vinyl.

The injury bug might be the one to take us out of the playoffs.
Can't count on Highsmith any more to play a full game. Herbig and Sawyer? Good time for Sawyer to show what he's got.

On the serious side, I really hate to see this sort of thing happen to anyone.
    Get well TJ.

I'm actually hoping with out TJ the Dolphins adjusted their game plan, and it cost them with one of the younger guys getting more single blocks.

That would be awesome if he is back by then. Hopefully at full strength and not at the 'just enough to be there' point.

In the military, a tension pneumothorax was one of the issues that the medics taught us on a fair bit. It is a very serious condition and requires poking a hole in your chest if you are out in the field to let the air out. The whole surgery part of his treatment is what worries me. He was in the hospital overnight which makes it seem like they felt the need to monitor. He will probably be up and about a day or two later, but duties as a professional athlete are a different beast.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

And to kick TJ when he’s down, the NFL fined him for a totally benign tackle against the Ravens. Just ridiculous.

This is exactly what I thought and felt it might be. I had two simultaneously on Memorial day weekend back in 2020 and almost ignored it. Wife nagged me to go to urgent care on Friday and they had ambulance come get me and emergency room doc said had I not come likely wouldn't have made it the weekend. Having said that they can clear it quickly but they want to figure out where it came from. Mine was unprovoked (i.e. no long flight no scuba diving, etc) thus on eliquis for life. It will not harm him permanently or be career threatening unless it did damage and he doesn't recover 100% lung capacity. I ended up at about 95% so I didn't lose much.

That’s just a horrible comment. Horrible. Hilarious. I laughed uncontrollably for a few minutes. But still horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself. Funny none the less though.
