Can Miami handle our ground attack, newbie LT, and Tomlin's coaching?

The guy has Kenny Picket stats, has been under 200 yards passing the last 4 weeks and 1 TD.

I think there's a lot to be said about having 3 legit Receivers on the field. Those are:
    1. Metcalf
    2. Adam Thielan
    3. MVS

Granted 2 and 3 are not big-time threats but are capable and experienced receivers. That puts pressure on the DB's because those 2 know where the pressure points are.
Roman Wilson as far as I care can go wash cars. He's not getting it, he's not going to. Maybe it's a coaching issue, I don't care at this point.

Mix in a little Freiermuth and maybe Jonnu Smith steps it up. Those two are capable vets. I'd rather have Washington in as his blocking is far and away better and when he catches the ball, DB's pay a price.

And we have Austin to mix in there and use to his strengths, stretching the field.
All those elements add up to a passing game.

On the ground game.. man I love our RB's... Gainwell and Warren. I wish Kaleb would fill in the 'thunder' role but our run blocking suffers without Washington and Anderson is out. This a challenge for Aurthur Smith to overcome.

Roger's at QB brings those smarts... I love the meetings he's been doing. If our air crew can all get on the same page, we can be dangerous.

Miami is going to run the ball. As someone pointed out, their win streak is against bottom feeders. The problem there is, we have a lot of injuries.
    We need Duggar and Harmon.
I do expect Ramsey and Porter to have 1 or 2 picks against Tua. He has 14 picks on the year, and only 4 during this win streak against bad teams. Our secondary should get 1 or 2 at least.
If there's a game where TJ is needed, this one he should feed off. He's got a favorable matchup and Miami is going to definitely dedicate a RB to chip him,,, Highsmith and Herbig need to get the pressure.

At the end of the day, we've choked this type of game... blowing here in Pittsburgh with playoffs on the line will not go over well. Tomlin got booed here last time for a pathetic performance against the Bills. Pittsburgh has way more at stake.

Blowing a game when it's 15° out to a team from the tropics and it will be tar and feather time.

    You got it.
It will be very loud displeasure. I kind of don't blame them.

It's kind of like Tomlin and company must fudge game plans in most of the time, then they to point where everyone is tearing on them, then come up with plan.
I would say 'like Baltimore' but we got a little lucky there.

I don't know about the Dolphins, but I will not be out in that cold. No interest at all. I'm not even hunting at those temps.

I went to a Steelers December game in 2012 when it was in the teens with snow showers. For a Virginia guy, in the upper deck with the wind coming in was brutal.

These temps are when you do want to hunt, the prey has to move in order to not freeze, they need food to create warmth, which means they are moving. Experience tells the hunter to stand firm, wait for the prey to make the mistake of coming near you. Steelers need to be the hunter, Dolphins are what we are hunting this week!!!

If the steelers stop the run they win easily.

I don't think it is that Roman is not getting it, I think it is more that both Wilson and Austin are small receivers... If we had two big threats on the outside I think Wilson would work pretty well going against the nickel/dime CB. Wilson is also not a burner, so that makes things harder for him. Two tiny receivers on the field at the same time makes life difficult.

I was actually hoping Wilson would be able to push Austin off the roster this season (And ideally we would still have Pickens on the outside with DK). I guess that is his fault that he hasn't. I suspect the coaches just don't trust Wilson because his rookie season was a wash due to injury. If they could have seen more his rookie season maybe they would have made a different decision on keeping Austin around.

I guess having tiny receivers worked for a time for Brady in NE, but it doesn't really work out most of the time.

I think in this win streak, they've been running the ball pretty well. Seems like that's the key to winning in these freezing cold games.

Hopefully Harmon can play since the difference with and without him is probably getting close to 100 yards rushing per game (this must be more than just him though).

Mike McDaniel is going to need to go shopping for some full length pants.

And look how close all of them are predicting it to be. In other words, a Steelers mishap anywhere in the game, and it can easily go the other way.
