As mentioned on another thread, this team does not react to momentum either way. I cannot recall a team this unpredictable in 53 years of Steelers watching- maybe the 1984 team, which would beat great teams and lose to lousy ones.

I feel pretty good, mostly because the Ravens are bad, bad, bad. They did not start 1-5 for no reason, and there is a reason why teams that start 1-5 don't make the playoffs.

And another thing, one which I had almost forgotten:

Given all the deserved discord and rampant mediocrity, one could easily forget the Steelers were a consensus pick before the season to finish 3rd, out of the playoffs, with a losing record. (All still possible of course!)

1-3 to close it out. The steelers have gotten our hopes up and now about to punch us all in the dickholes.

I think 8. I think Bungles end Ratbirds season next week (because Rats have more losses coming and Bungles can win remainder of their games). Then it is wait and see time. If we beat Miami, we have a couple games to give. If we lose to Miami and Detroit, things get interesting again. Since we are drama queens, maybe the latter will happen.

A home game against the chargers could yield a playoff win.

Yeah if they can get Earl Campbell rolling the Oilers will be tough to beat. I think this is the year that Bum Philips kicks in the door.

But they shouldn't have to. The team with the better record should be at home. We got burned back in the Tebow game because we had to travel to Denver despite winning 4 more games than they did that year. There is no way we lose that game in Pittsburgh with Ryan Clark playing.

I mean I don’t disagree but the Bills couldn’t care less if the game was in Timbuktu. They will beat us by double digits regardless.

Even worse, they will lose to Miami and Detroit, beat the Browns and Ravens to win the division, then get absolutely boat-raced in the Wild Card round at home.

We will be stuck with Tomlin, picking in the 20s, and looking for the next discount double-check for QB.

Right now we are in great position. If the Bengals find a way to beat the Ravens next week, we will have to implode the rest of the way in to not win the division. This game was so important... we might've gotten some help from the refs... but we got the win and its all that matters. We are in the drivers seat massively

I don't know how this is going to finish out. I can't look at any of the four remaining games and declare it a win or loss.

Miami: quietly one of the hottest teams in football. Good news its a might game in December.

Lions: Stopping Gibbs is going to be a task especially for this run defense, which will open up the passing game for Goff.

Browns: playing with house money and nothing to lose. I think they'll come out and try to be spoilers.

    Ravens: will certainly want payback.

My 7-10 projection is in jeopardy and I'm thrilled about that. I hope they win the next 4 and go 11-6, I don't see that happening, but it's always possible. A 3 way tie at 8-9 seems kinda loopy but possible as well. Its going to be an interesting, but not-so-easy stretch.

I'd like to think we are able to win a MNF home game (of which Tomlin does really well in). Cleveland is more dangerous with Sanders than they are with Gabriel, but they shouldn't be a tough one either. We win those two games and we're pretty much guaranteed a win and in vs the Ravens. If the Bengals do us a favor and beat the Ravens, then those two wins might just get us the division. No game is free in the NFL, but if we butcher this... then we certainly don't belong in the playoffs. Today's win was massive and unexpected.

I don't know if I'd consider today's win expected or unexpected. Ravens have been playing some awful football themselves this season. Despite the Bengals 4-9 record, if they finish in a 3 way tie with us and the Ravens, they win the division. I think 2-2 with a 9-8 finish is probably the most likely outcome here. I just can't project on a game by game basis of how we get there. And I think that 9-8 record will be good enough to win the division.

Cleveland has given the Steelers fits in Cleveland for about 7-8 years.
The Steelers have been putrid in night games this year (Cincy, GB, LAC) and the Dolphins are back in the playoff race.
Detroit, in Detroit, that isn't a great matchup.
Ravens at home - that could be for the division unless the Ravens win the next 3

    Baltimore
@ Cincy - does Cincy care now that they have a 9th loss?
vs NE - despite their record, not sold on Pats yet. Their schedule has been very easy.
@ GB - I'd expect Pack to win
@ Pit - could be the decider

Ryan Tannehill - having never played in the snow before - and the Dolphins beat Steelers in a snowstorm.

Well, I was about to say that my confidence level for winning the division is a 6, so I guess I’m calculating the same odds as the computer.

Feel pretty good. Not because of the Steelers, predicting them is nigh impossible but because the Ravens will have trouble finding 1 more win maybe 2 at best.

As long as the Steelers dont completely implode, they should be able to stay ahead of them.

If I had to guess on the Steelers finish, 2-2. Ravens aren’t finishing better than that.
