Yep. TJ did. I don't think he would have been able to get to him and his teammates damn sure should have already been heading that way.
Pickens' laziness is far worse and it will be his ethic throughout his career.

If George Pickens only put in the amount of effort you put into this.
    That would be something special.

Mike Tomlin and the Steelers knew exactly what they were getting when George slipped in the draft because of his attitude problems.

Reminds me of people who buy houses near the airport and then a few years later are at a Town meeting complaining about the noise from the airport.

An old Mike Tomlin wants nothing to do with his players anymore. George Pickens needs a coach that can me on his ass 24 hours a day; Mike Tomlin used to be that coach.

FWIW with all the talk this season about Pickens going to a better situation with a real offense, this season will be the first time in his career playing in games with no playoff implications. I would not be surprised at all if we see some classic Pickens behaviour.

George Pickens is SOFT and there is no one who likes SOFT football players.

We could have Justin Jefferson on our team and find it hard to get a 1,000 yard receiver. GP was here 3 years and only eclipsed 1,000 yards once. We fix our offense a bit (and get some better QB play) and we will have 1,000 yard receivers again.

Just from from the last game against the Bills.

    1) Wide receiver DK Metcalf was slapped with the biggest fine at $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
    2) Captain Cameron Heyward was hit with an $11,593 fine for taunting.
    3) Payton Wilson, meanwhile, was hit with two fines for unnecessary roughness. Two $7,066 fines totaling $14,132.

Mike Tomlin has no control over his players and people think that George Pickens was the problem. There is no doubt in my mind that if GP was still here, he too would be fined as this team has gone completely off track with Tomlin running this Out-of-Control Crazy Train.

It wasn't fatigue. Watt was playing through multiple injuries during that ugly stretch at the end of last season. Unfortunately, his level of play has also declined a great deal. No, I don't think he is taking plays off when he is on the field. PIckens does, and he still should have been kept and the Steelers should have adapted their offense to feature him. If he was still a Steeler, he would be the best player on that offense by a significant margin.

This post should read : “Cancerous head case over DK this week”

It kills me to admit this because as much as I wanted him gone last year, I didn’t want him gone until we had solidified a viable replacement. That said, I blame a lot of his actions—not all, to be clear—on coaching. A redundancy of incorrigibility is a reflection of your head coach.

EDIT: Besides Antonio Brown, Pickens had the best hands I’d ever seen as a Steelers WR. I said this before, and I will reiterate , he will continue to be nothing more than flashes of the best WR you’ve ever seen….and more like the lazy route running immature crybaby he is. Greatness will never overcome his overall heart and maturity—and even if it eventually does, it will be too late. By then he’ll be retired.

Bro... this is no longer Steeler related... Mods, PLEASE... put this garbage on other team talk and call it a day. It is a war crime that this is still on the front page of STEELERS TALK.

I have to disagree with you on this. My George Pickens thread is in the General NFL forum where it belongs, because it is about George Pickens.
George Pickens 1 of 5 players in NFL History with 50+ rec and 15+ Yds/rec in each of first 3 seasons | TheSteelersFans

This thread was originally about George Pickens vs DK Metcalf, but has now turned into a George Pickens vs the entire Steeler WR room.

Not sure why you would think it is not OK to talk about DK Metcalf or Pittsburgh WRs in the Steelers Talk forum??? Granted a lot of people keep trying to hijack this thread and just talk about former Steeler George Pickens, but what are you going to do? :)

Tomlin overestimated his abilities to coach Pickens into a professional. I am sure prior to the draft there was internal debate about whether to risk the pick on Pickens. Tomlin's likely argument; I can coach him up. In the end, I think it was the players that might have told Tomlin that Pickens wasn't worth the effort and so the Steelers threw in the towel on him.

I don’t think playoffs have anything to do with Pickens behavior going forward. Its still a contract year for Pickens.

What’s wild is Steeler fans celebrating Pickens having a bad game while simultaneously watching the Steelers get the brakes beat off of them and look disinterested vs Buffalo.

DK had a stupid penalty in 3 games, we can’t stop the run with the most expensive D in football and our WR room can’t even put up stats collectively that can compete with Pickens yet they act like Pickens was one of our biggest problems.

Awww is it to upsetting to see how bad dk is (So we lost that trade to seachickens) vs how great pickens is (so we lost that trade to cowgirls)? As well to hard to realize we made zero idea to replace pickens and how horrible we are for the entire teams receivers? How receivers have been doing bone headed penalties with fines?

I or someone else would make a thread asap of how stupid it was for our trades during the off season, how stupid it was with the production of what we got out of dk, etc etc threads...... so up to you, do you want 3+ other threads or leave this one that has it all combined?

But what about the penalties receivers have been doing this season? 2 fines from wilson and 1 from DK. As well things like DK unsportsman that was done after a play and cost us 15 yards on the the kickoff, which lead to a TD and changed the game around for the worse.

i'm not looking away. yes he has. did i ever say he was better on the field than pickens? we finally heard things about mr. murder charge while he was here. most of these deva WR's are idiots and easily goated into things. they have issues. how would you like to be in a locker room with these guys? the coaches seem to look away from them while the rest of the team is held to higher standards. look at chase spitting on another player. nothing from the bengals. i'm not defending any of them. i said amazing talent on the field, overshadowed by his brain off the field. not sure why you are so defensive about this. nothing about it is made up. do you watch pickens play in big D? have you watched him all year? as long as he's getting the ball and being the star he's happy and feels he can do anything he wants on or off the field.

so we are better with two of these types instead of just one? that sure seems counter productive. but what do i know? i'm a liar i guess.

Finally DK did something! And with his TD fail, that's not on him, that CB hit that exactly right out of his hands.

I hear you on the contract but how much did we shop him? I mean a sucker is born everyday. So, who knows what we could have gotten for him if we shopped him. From what I read Tomlin lead the charge to get rid of him. I’m assuming they found the Cowboys quick and settle quickly on a third round pick.

I just think it was a terrible trade. I mean he was like this with us. It’s not like what he’s doing with the Cowboys is something we hadn’t seen. Going into the season I was thinking DK on one side and Pickens on the other. That lasted what a week or two? Anyway it doesn’t matter now.

Pickens is no longer a steeler. We can talk about Steelers WR’s in a thread not named after a former Steeler. Idk. I’m not a mod, so not my decision.
