Suggestions for a replacement for "Renegade"

The problem with Renegade isn't the song itself. It's that we don't have a defense that's worthy of it. Countless times, I've watched the crowd go into a frenzy, hearing Renegade and watching plays from Defenses long ago, screaming and yelling and twirling the terrible, only to watch the current D IMMEDIATELY give up a TD. It's becoming a joke.

We don't need a new song, though I wouldn't be opposed to it as part of a team overhaul. But we desperately need a better D and better coaching to go along with it.

And while we're at it, there's too much playing of the Pennsylvania polka at the game. It's a fun thing to play once for the kids. After that, I've had enough. Play something at the beginning of games that fires everyone up! I've been to college games where the intro music whips the crowd into a frenzy.

 

Not sure how you could consider spoonman a song that would pump the crowd up. Chris Cornell was a great singer but he can also lull you to sleep.

 

For the current team, the Benny Hill music would be appropriate.

 

How about the kids' song, Ring Around the Rosie? The last line "all fall down" is appropriate.

 

Can we replace the defense instead of the song?

Renegade doesn’t need to be replaced. A little more selective playing of the song maybe.
If the defense would actually step up and make a stop after they plate Renegade, that would be a good start.

 

Anyone who doesn’t like Renegade is a straight up Milky licker.
