Maybe, but he has shouldered some of the blame as well this time around.

Exactly. 4 time league MVP, world champion and Super Bowl MVP is going to expect more from others. Some aren't nice about it.

Not sure how the bottom post changed the top post.

I have not hear Rodgers say anything different about people not showing up to film sessions.

I remember last year Rodgers through Mike Williams under the bus for running a sloppy route on game day. The Jets traded Williams to the Steelers and we all saw how that turned out. Mike William would retire after the Steelers season was over.

I think Aaron Rodgers is not a fellow employee you want around if you are late to work, because he is going to tell people you were late to work.

And, Muth is the buddy you want, that will help you sneak in the backdoor, when you are late to work. :)

If Aaron Rodgers was being honest and realistic about his contributions and blame for the good and the bad of the 2025 Steelers offense, he would retire.

Instead he wants to blame guys for not making sight adjustments and running routes wrong. Meanwhile, he misses wide open guys, runs into sacks, and does other washed up old guy crap.

Before he left Green Bay, he threw Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs to the wolves in the local media. Anyone doubt those guy's ability to play in the NFL now that Love is the QB?

When he was with the Jets he basically said Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson were useless. I think evidence begs to differ.

Aaron Rodgers is a major reason for the difficulties on offense. He does not fully recognize that it is past time for him to hang the cleats up.

I think that if you read it as the following:

When we have film sessions, everyone attends. Therefore, everyone should know WTF is going on. So run the dang route or admit you are stupid.

    Doubt Tomlin does either.

I feel extremely let down with how things have played out offensively. I defended the move with Pickens' at the time, assuming they had a plan productive plan in place for the offense without him and his attitude. Whelp, we see how that's turned out.

They've got an offensive line that's still not proficient in either run blocking or pass protection. Roman Wilson continues not to get any focus despite showing solid separation skills...Jonnu Smith was brought in from Miami, extended a year, and has put up a 30/190/2 receiving line...Freiermuth, who himself was extended a couple of years ago, has regressed to 26/198/4...Austin continues to be misused...routes I've seen on tape frequently seem designed for only one receiving option to be targeted...after one of their worst offensive performances over the past 25 years they respond by picking up a 35 y/o Adam Thielen.....

This is a terrible offense. I never expected it rival the The Best Show on Turf, but they're currently below Matt Canada/Kenny Pickett production levels. Someone should have to be answering some BIG questions over the decision to opt out of a Pickens for...whatever the hell this is.:nea:

I feel like we are all fixating on the trade of Pickens (which I think was not anyone's best idea) and the whole narrative of a lack of #2 WR far too much.

The offense has a QB problem. Full stop. The end of discussion. It really isn't that much more complicated.

Despite those two later career MVPs, Rodgers has been in a gradual physical decline since about 2018 or so. LaFleur came in and got Rodgers to shift his game around and returned him to Pro Bowl/MVP form but it was more about executing the structure of the offense than the ridiculous free-lance playmaking that Rodgers had built much of his career on. By the end of the GB tenure, Rodgers didn't want to play that way anymore and the presence of Jordan Love pissed him off to the degree that he left and attempted to return to his previous style of offense with the Jets. Then he got injured and had to leave town.

Long story short, Rodgers' physical decline is now complete. He can no longer execute a credible NFL offense. It wouldn't matter how many WRs the team had.

Mike Tomlin did answer a big question on offense. He said they are good at getting to third down and short [then I fact checked and saw they were 18th in the league].

With regard to passing and comparing the Steelers to other teams: With the Steelers, we see contested catches. We see sideline throws. We see attempts to hit a receiver in stride (sometimes). The receiver is usually facing somewhat towards the QB to catch the pass when the ball is thrown. With other teams that have better symmetry, you see the QB throw the ball while the receiver is still running, then the receiver breaks, turns around, finds the ball and catches it. Better route running that is much harder to defend than what we seem to throw. Why is that process so different for our guys?

We have a poor history of controlling players and their tantrums whether they are on or off the field.

Almost up to the exact middle is actually a good stat line for the Steelers when you compare it to so many other stat lines from this year for us.

I remember Mike Williams catching the game winning TD in his first game for us.

Then I remember Mike Williams catching a long pass in another game and then being sent to the sidelines for the rest the game for some odd reason.

Arthur Smith is awful when it comes to using our best weapons effectively.

This is an oversimplification. Rodgers has definitely been a big part of the problem since the Colts game, but to say he is the only problem is inaccurate. The line still has issues. Warren is their best weapon, but they limit his touches and he still keeps getting banged up. His numbers seem to be declining as the season goes on. The lack of a second receiver is a huge issue. It makes everything else too easy to defend. It often leaves Rodgers with nowhere to go with the ball, which leads to him either dumping the ball off or trying stupid heroic crap that he can't do any more far too often.

    I couldn't disagree more.

The issues you identified are all things that teams with strong QB play regularly overcome. There are also plenty of video clips floating around showing second(ary) receivers running open that Rodgers is just not throwing to.

And if we want to phrase it as NOT the only problem - that is more than fine. But until or unless the QB play for the Pittsburgh Steelers is substantially upgraded from what they have had in the period 2021-2025, then the result will be the same regardless of improvements to the rest of the roster or coaching turnover.

Until they can identify and roster competent at least, if not above average, QB on the roster....the rest is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Problem is the lack of QB/ receiver reps with each year bringing a new QB in. It took BR to AB a season to get the chemistry. And it's only worse with the current CBA. Fans don't realize how few reps are actually run in practices during the season.
