Why no Roughing

To me it’s clearly RTP, based on the current rules. Do I like the rule? Absolutely not, but it is a rule and certainly should’ve been called. Rodgers lack of awareness is another thing…. For a veteran QB, he was shockingly unaware on that play.

It was a huge momentum swing. I still think we lose the game because the offense was pretty much inept and the D was getting gashed on the ground, but it was a missed call and a big turning point.

 

The way the Bills ran the ball, they still would have likely won the game, but it is silly that some are dismissing the impact of that play. The entire dynamic changed once the Bills had the lead.

 

Part of the reason they missed it could very well be that the guy who is supposed to call it has already taken his focus off the QB and on to the ball flying through the air and who is going to recover it. There are other officials, but it's not their responsibility and they really are in no position to help out on a call like that.

 

Some of you don't remember the objective calls of old school football. Is it a 5 yard variety or a 10 yard variety etc.

 

Exactly, it was missed because there was so much more going on during the play. If Rodgers holds onto it and the DL lands on top of him like that it's first down Pittsburgh on their own 32 instead of 10-7 Buffalo.
