Chuckles. I missed that last bit of nonsense at the time.

Jaylen Warren's average per carry is down to 4.2 yards. The Steelers just faced two of the worst run defenses in the NFL. Warren averaged 3.8 yards per carry against the Bears and 3.5 against the Bills as the Steelers lost both games. He has been over 100 yards once this season, and that was against the Bengals. Not great.

This is a Jaylen issue? That's funny.

Yeah, failed attempt to flex. Warren has been one of the rare bright spots on the team.

His numbers are comparable to what the Steelers got the last four years from Harris, but with fewer touches and less durability, exactly as I predicted. Just as with Harris the last four years, the offense's flaws are holding Warren back.

The argument was never that Warren isn't good. It was that he is a part-time back, not a true No. 1, and that the Steelers were right to use him the way they did the past three seasons. This season has done nothing but provide support for that argument.

I wasn't right about all of it. Gainwell has far exceeded my expectations, but I was right about Warren.

I predicted he would continue to be less durable than Harris. He missed one start and parts of other games. I was right about that.

I predicted that he would not be able to handle a workload like Harris. He has not. I was right about that.

I pointed out that the offense helped limit Harris as it would do to any lead back in Pittsburgh. We have seen that in Warren's declining average yards per carry. I was right about that one, too.

I was wrong about Gainwell. I was wrong in my concerns about Warren protecting the ball.

You cannot reasonably counter any of those points, but you don't want to admit that much of what I predicted for Warren has come true, so you do that.

Warren is a solid #2 back. Another failure by the GM

Your interpretation of what you were “right” about is where you go astray. None of that is true and not worth debating.

    100%

He’s absolutely better and is just fans shortcomings not to recognize that his usage is a result of poor coaching.

    Wilson
    Johnson
    Warren
    Muth
    Washington

    All peculiar usage.

One of very few offensive "weapons" with anything to reccomend him.

It was obvious for a long while who the better back was, and if you thought it was Slowee, you might as well stop watching football. Shame the Steelers wasted so many carries on him trying to make their draft decision look good.

Wrong. He's a superior player to the one we let go. For as "bad" as you say he is, he's averaging over a quarter yard per carry more than Najee did in his Steeler career. We have quality backs. Outside of DK and Washington, they are the only two true weapons that this team has. We aren't having trouble moving the ball offensively because our RB's aren't good enough. It is painfully obvious to see.

You can spin it anyway you want. He hasn’t performed consistent enough.

You don't want to debate it because I'm right about it all. I didn't expect otherwise.

You want to make every excuse for Warren but ignore that Harris dealt with many of the same issues.

They are limiting Warren's touches because he isn't durable enough to be a true lead back. It isn't that complicated.
