This guy is a captain and supposed to be a leader instead of setting an example for the other players he gets a dumb taunting penalty. To come out after halftime still mad about something Josh Allen did to him in the first half . On the season he has 1.5 sacks nothing since October, but he wanted more money to take care of his family.

So, is Cam being set in place as your annual excuse for massive coaching failures across the board?

He’s not much of a leader IMO.
And these players kill me with their nonsense about trying to take care of their family. It’s really a slap in the face to the fan base. The fan base is struggling to keep the electric bill and the mortgage paid, and these guys are struggling to decide whether they should buy a Mercedes or a BMW.

Hayward has had multiple opportunities to step up and be a leader. To show the other players that you put the team first, but he’s always chose to be selfish and think about himself. He’s no leader.

The Steelers blew this entire offseason. Giving in to Heyward's demand for more money after just giving him a new deal the previous year was one of many huge mistakes. This is a selfish, undisciplined, and dysfunctional team. Heyward is a big part of that.

TJ and Cam paydays, Pickens trade really hampered this team.

    Winner big time.
This was a massive failure. The decision should have been made to get what we could for him and move him. I would add TJ before the contract. Those additional picks would have been great.

This is since Ben is gone that this team need a full rebuilding but they refuse to do it,they have no plan...Like trading Pickens and trade for DK is a perfect example of that.2 opposite decision...They have no plan

Nah, he just sucks and is washed like TJ. The coaching hasn't been good but that doesn't absolve the players .

First time I ever heard a DT complain about the QB playing dirty after the whistle. Hey Mr Heyward, how about taking care of it in game with a QB sack or two or at least a hit on the QB?

The best way for Cam to get back at Allen was go hit him like Bosa hit Rodgers ;).

Well, if it means anything the extra money was all incentive-based. It appears safe to say they shan't be coming to pass.

Will be interesting to see if they exercise the option (roster bonus) to bring him back next year.

I think that decision has to be made a few weeks after the SB.

Roster Bonus is ~ $13MM. Base is $1.3MM.

My guess is that he probably won't take another pay cut to come back. But so far he's been the opposite of Watt. Where Cam loses basically every aspect of every contract negotiation with the team. And Watt successfully holds us over a barrel ever time.

Yep. Said this in another post, but the incentives that they gave him (sack totals AND playoff success) were just a polite way of telling him that they weren't going to give him any extra money this year.

I was over him when he was crying for Pro Bowl votes on social media.

Then we get a 1st round playoff bye and he shows up out of shape. They ran right at him and he was off the field half the game. His playoff stats are terrible.

Then he’s all smiles and happy at Pro Bowl.

I have to give it to him though he actually played good last season but that’s about it. Trade him and let him go chase a ring. I could careless about him being a lifer.

Not saying GP isn't mental...but if this team wasn't a clown show, maybe GP could have been managed better and still be here.

As we stand today, I doubt the Steelers will want him back, and I think Cam knows he's bout done anyway.
