...about our Steelers and how difficult would you grade those changes to make.

These are the changes I'd like.

    1) The kind of change in the running game many of us have been screaming for. Get Redman the ball a bit more and join Mendy in the backfield for some plays. If they don't want to give a roster spot to a an actual FB (which I would like, get rid of Battle) they should try using a back up guard since they are accustom to pulling and blocking. They tried that with Legursky didn't they, what happened to that? - Medium difficulty since it would involve new plays for the guys to get familiar and be effective with.

    2) Make Heath Miller a part of the passing game during an entire game, not just in bunches and streaks and get rid of Johnson. Easy change, just do it...

    3) Basically get rid of Ariens. Difficult, but should be done in the off season.

    4) Institute more man on man press coverage with the DB's. Easy, just make sure that our guys actually jam the receivers.

    5) "they need to start winning some games and they can no lose any more games." - A great mind (not sure how to grade this one.

    1. Fire Bruce Arians and re-commit to the running game. This would require signing one or two linemen in the offeseason and bringing in a FB. See #4. I can also see releasing Mendenhall and going with Redman, possibly drafting a RB in the first or second round. Degree of difficulty: Moderate. (Question is, who replaces him?) :beg:

    2. Let Mike Wallace walk (he will be a RFA) and commit to Brown and Sanders at the WR position. I am not sold on Mike's mental toughness. He's made some great catches, but he drops too many easy ones. If I were GM, he'd be playing for his job the next few weeks. Degree of difficulty: easy.

    3. Urge Dick LeBeau to retire and promote Keith Butler as DC, with a little more emphasis on press coverage. Degree of Difficulty: Moderate.

    4. Target the cornerback, O-line, and fullback positions in the draft or free agency, possibly with money saved from Mendy and Mike's contracts. degree of Difficulty: Easy.

    5. Install field turf at Heinz. Degree of Difficulty: Moderate

Wow dude, I'll give it to ya, you didn't stay shy with bold moves. I actually kinda see the strategy in a few of those. I'd rather use Wallace as trade bait then get nothing for him. The F.O. blew their opportunity to get a better deal for S. Holmes. But, with Sanders' foot things lately I'd rather trade him Honestly I'd try and keep the whole crew. I'd trade Mendy though. Where is the upside to getting rid of LeBeau? Just because Butler can be told what to do more than the elder? With some of the older crew likely gone we are going to have a ton of money to get handy with. Smith, Hoke, maybe Hampton, maybe Farrior, hopefully Johnson. I'm on the fence about Kemoatu unless he wants to play back up/FB.

I would not change a thing .. Very happy these last 34 years being a Steelers fan.. Year in and year out we have some exciting football to watch and we field a competitive team and being a Steelers fan means your not Stains fan.

Sure there are areas of improvement on every team that can be made. Ok well maybe not Greenbay hehe..

We are so lucky and I find because of this we have become spoiled as fans.

I love this team and even more the organization. Sure there have been some blemishes on the personnel over the years but for the most part the front office is extremely good at picking talent through the draft and no high price free
agency . I fear when the Rooneys leave the class of the organization could be in jeopardy

    Give that man a "Harumph!'.

And, letting Wallace go? That's on par with #5 on this list. Classic.

Bump... And not because it's mine. This game may have exposed more questions.

(To: Busman. Just because we have the richest history doesn't mean there isn't currently room for improvement, does it?)

The first peace of business that I would change or the team needs to do is FIRE BRUCE ARIANS IMMEDIATELY!!!! This guy is a true detriment to the team.

The next thing they really should focus on in getting rid of SOCRATES MENDENHALL. This guy is truly not the one. Redman is standing on the side lines saying, look at this soft s_ _ _, I would have ran that ball into the endzone. They totally have no respect for my talents. Redman had a 5.8 yard average with only 8 touches. How silly is that. How can Tomlin let BA go on with his stupid stuff and say nothing. Redman is standing on the sidelines watching Mendenhall get his butt kicked with four tries from the three yard line. I could see on at least two of his carries there was a little opening where he could have scored, but he always runs to high and he shys away from contact. Redman would have hit those openings with authority and power and scored. Somebody tell me why Tomlin doesn't see this stuff and over rule Arians and put Redman in the game. The fact is that Redman should be the short yardage and goal line back. Thats all it is to it.

The next thing is, get rid of FAT KEMO as soon as possible. They might as well have kept Urbik for all intentional purposes. This guy is a waste. He almost single handily lost the game by getting all those penalties. One time he got called for holding and his man almost sacked Ben. How can you hold and your man still puts pressure on the QB? Get rid of him.

And last but not least, time for Farrior, Hampton, Ward after he gets his records, McFadden, Moore, Smith, and Hoke to be let go, and Dwyer. Their time is up. Time to bring in some youth via the draft or free agency. Time to do something else, something different, just as long as it is youthful. Dwyer because he is just not good enough.

Also, it's time for the Steelers to take a long look at Emmanual sanders. This kid stays hurt. Brown is the one, plus they will sign Wallace long term, so they need to do their homework on Sanders. If he comes back starting in the San Fran game and stays healthy the rest of the season and produces, then everything shoould be alright. Other wise he is going to have to stay healthy and produce in training camp. If he gets hurt again in training camp, a warning sign should go up.

FO needs to get busy. Try to fine the right back so that they can get back to the running game. They need to take there time and fine a replacement for Mendenhall through the draft or free agency. In the meantime Redman and Baron Batch can do the job. Batch is Moore's replacement.

Dwyer is the third-string running back, and when he's on the field he's done well. No howlers, at least. How does this make him "just not good enough"? I could understand it for someone like MeMo - but he's always been a situational player.

We currently have a number of older veterans who will probably retire - especially if we do something spectacular this year - and they all have good young back ups behind them (NT could use more depth).

We are stacked with developing talent at a number of positions, with the standout exception of QB and G.

I don't see the need for panic.

Maybe 6) Bury William Gay alive for his horrendous play/ Make William Gay president (depending on whether he had an interception or not).

I guess he thinks so too, since he stated right in his post about improvements.
