I still believe we will win the division. SO....Yes, we will make the playoffs. Since 2020, we are 8-3 vs the Ravens. We are 5-7 vs the Browns in that same time span. This year's Ravens do not scare me. At worst 1-1. We will beat this version of the Browns again 2-1. Dolphins have to come to us, 3-1. I think we win at least 1 of the Bills/Lions, 4-2. We finish at 10-7. At worst 9-8.

The Ravens have us twice, the Bengals with Burrow possibly twice, at GB, and vs the Patriots. I think they finish 8-9.

Yes, it is sad that a division will be won with a 9-8 record possibly. But what does that really matter?

You seem to be the only fan worried about the 'streak'. Yet you seem to think everyone else cares about it. Just a strange sad little hill there.

It's funny guys like you and 43 claim that's all Tomlin is worried about but you're the ones that keep talking about it .

I think we split the Ravens games, we will have to finish with a better record than them in that case... I know their schedule isn't a cakewalk, but we still have to beat a couple of quality teams too. I'm pretty sure that the Bills is a must win game. We need the tie breaker on someone... Going to 6-6 and having losing breakers with LA and Buffalo probably seals our fate outside of winning the division.

The division is probably our best chance (and likely the only way we are going to control our own destiny. Beat the Ravens twice and we can lose 2 games the remainder of the season and still get in. If we split with the Ravens, we're going to have to ball out to make it, since we will likely need to finish ahead of them with our record to claim the title (currently are losing the tie breaker).

I get that we have a decent record against the Ravens, but they also have had back up QB's in for most of those games. Lamar has been the starting QB since 2019, which means there is a potential 15 games played in that span. Lamar has played in 8 of them. We're 3-5 vs Lamar... but the last two games he's really had our number. It isn't an easy task taking both games.

Lamar hasn't been playing well lately not much running, in those two losses against the Ravens last year they seemed to change their defense against them.

Well he hasn’t won a playoff game in near a decade so I know what side of the argument an intelligent individual would be on. I will gladly be called a Tomlin hater :thumbs up:

I was shocked at how little Lamar is running. He must still be nicked up.

You lose any credibility you think you had when you resort to name calling. Even sadder still.

He's dealing with a knee and toe injury I think I hope it lingers the rest of the season, maybe the Steelers can get back to sacking him and force him into mistakes.

I used the playoff machine based on what I think the outcome of games will be, and couldn’t come up with a probable path to the postseason. Outcomes of some games that are pleasantly surprising to me will be necessary.

Or the Ravens changed their offence to beat what we usually do against us. The playoff game was just typical playoff Tomlin getting out-schemed, but the regular season away game was just a poor performance.

I get that the Ravens are struggling, but our defense is statistically one of the worst in the league. If we didn't get all the pressures/turnovers, we likely would be considered a bottom 3 defense, and likely the league's worst defense that isn't the Bengals. We're 2nd worst in yards per game allowed in the league, we're second in missed tackles in the league (trailing only the pitiful Bengals defense in both regards), we're 6th worst in 3rd down percentage allowed, 2nd worst in 4th down percentage allowed... The only thing we do well defensively is pressure the QB (5th in sacks and 5th in pressures) and get turnovers (2nd in takeaways). We're essentially a Bengals level defense that can get pressure and cause turnovers. We pay the most money in the league on the defensive side of the ball for this level of performance ($25 million more than 2nd place in 2025).

At the very least the Bengals pay only 90 million to suck, we pay 160 million. To put it in perspective, we pay as much defensively as they pay on offense (and vice versa). Our offense is decent for being the 3rd cheapest offense in the league (Seattle and New Orleans pay less). However, our defense is unacceptably bad for what we pay for it. We really need to consider what we do with that side of the ball. Highsmith makes entirely to much money to be on the sideline all the time, as he's missed 9 games over the past 28 games (2 seasons). We might consider trading him. Malik Harrison sucks and we pay him too much, he's gotta go. Heyward is going to have to come off the books eventually. We need another corner. We might have a decent safety room if we end up extending Dugger.... idk. There's some decisions that need made because we need to pump a little money into the offense here soon. Speaking of offense either Muth or Smith has to be cut or traded as well. Neither contribute enough to justify their pay.

Yeah we are only favored in 2 more games so the Steelers would have to pull off a couple of upsets along the way and not have a let down in the 2 games they are favored.

I like the thought of the Ravens falling to 8-9 (though I don’t see it happening). It would be great though, and to me them being 9-8 at best is necessary for us to get in.

The Steelers Defense without turnovers is one of the worst in the NFL. The Steelers offense is one of the worst in the NFL. Yea I don’t see how?

Yeah this... I agree wholeheartedly. How many coaches get the leeway that MT has for the decline of our team? I understand he won us a SB 17 years ago.... but that's ancient history in pro sports. He made it back to the SB and lost 5 years ago... still ancient history. Since then we are 3-9 in postseason play (lucky to not be 2-10, thanks PacMan/Vontaze lol) and we've been consistently out schemed and out coached in many of those games (only a few of them were super long odds for us to win). At what point is enough, well... enough? Its all well and good that we haven't had a losing season during that stretch (we've had very very few rosters that should be capable of a losing season anyways...), but without real success, is not sucking enough? Apparently it is. It shouldn't be... but that's my opinion.

I'm over here hoping that Tomlin is the HC that is rumored to "want a change of scenery". It would be beneficial for both sides. Tomlin would get away from the roster and culture that he has helped drive into the ground the past 15 years and go try to coach a roster that is better positioned to win in the short term. The Steelers get to cut ties cleanly with a coach that is no longer working out and rebuild the team/staff in a manner that aligns for success in the future. Win/win in my book. The icing on top would be if we get to trade him for compensation. But its a pipe dream. I fully expect Tomlin to play out his contract, or resign after 2026 (last year of contract, no extension) at the very least.
