Let's see we have AR hurt. He can not take a hit with that wrist. He old, injured, and checked out.

We have medicore Mason. Mason played like garbage this pre season and cleary is not the answer at QB.

We are going absolutely no where in the playoffs with Rudy or AR. Start Howard and see how it goes for a game?

There is NO Way Bags Tomlin would do that. He is now looking to salvage his participation trophy streak...

I’d like to see what he can do but against the Bills that could be brutal.

They won’t put Howard in until they are eliminated from playoff contention which could be in 2/3 weeks.

You want to start him against the bills? And in a game we need to win?

But I get it, mason sucks. And if aaron is still hurt.

It's a toss up to me

What a joke this franchise has become. Not even gonna make the playoffs this season.

They have been a joke for years. Making the playoffs as a 7 seed and getting beat by 30 is practically the same thing.

It would be super depressing to have no playoff and to finish under .500 AND still have no changes made other than sacrificial lambs.

No, and they aren't even going to consider it. Either Rodgers or Rudolph will start against the Bills.

TOMLIN is under contract for 2 more years. The best we can hope is that if he has another bad year next season he doesn’t get extended and doesn’t want to be a lame duck heading into 2027.

Despite what I think of Mason, I still think he gives this team a better chance of winning if Rodgers can't go again. I don't think the Steelers are ready to punt on the season, nor should they be. I'm holding on to the tiniest of hopes that a healthy Rodgers can get them to the playoffs.

My feeling is you aren’t going anywhere with Rudolph and Rodgers was walking the same path as Wilson last year and now he’s hurt.

Why not see what the rookie can do. When a QB has it, it really lifts a team up. What if Howard came in and looked like Ben did his first year. I know one was a first rd pick and the other is a 6th rd but I think I’d give the unknown a chance at this time.

It will also help them with their draft strategy.

Oh trust me, I do want to see what they have in Howard. I just don't think they should do it just yet. I also don't see anyway Tomlin starts a rookie 6th round pick over a Hall of Fame QB. Even if he's washed. Then again, I'm not going to lose my mud if they give Howard some snaps. I also share your sentiment about Rodgers and Rudolph. I'm not overly confident either one gives them a realistic shot at a championship.

Howard is a college QB that has practiced with an NFL team for like 4 weeks. He has never played an NFL game, not even a pre season game. Yeah, he might be good......but he is never going to start unless both Rodgers and Rudolph are out for injury or play that is so bad that the fans are chanting for Howard over a couple of games.

Now, if it gets to the point where the playoffs are out of reach, and a winning season is out of reach (we hit 9 losses), someone might say....well, lets see what he can do. But being realistic, if Rodgers is capable he is starting every game. When he is not, Rudolph is starting.

Im assuming Aaron is good to go next week. Was pretty close to playing this week... IDK. Mason didn't get it done, and his crucial mistakes (first pass INT led to points, late fumble in FG range sealed our fate) killed us. He isn't KFP levels of inept, but he's definitely the same guy he's always been unfortunately. Howard would be a shot in the arm for fan base morale, but it's definitely punting on the season, as we know it is more for future state than winning now...

I doubt we'd do anything at all based off our history. The latest extension for Tomlin is proving to be the biggest blunder this franchise has made in decades. His defense gets worse every year and consistently fails to deliver. He hasn't been able to rebuild the offense or keep quality coordinators. Smith could leave for a HC gig and then what?
