so, do you try for it with your kicker, who's one of the best, or trust Mason Rudolph to make a do or die pass play?

Its funny, I just had the same conversation with son, who also thinks the Steelers should have kicked. If it was my decision, I would have went for the first down. Anything over 60 yards is too far IMO. Sure would have been nice to have a timeout there to get a better play called.

There was probably around a 60% chance Boz makes the FG. There was probably a 10% chance that Rudolph converts the 4th down. Boz's FG's this year from 58,59 and 60 yards cleared the bar by several yards. He had a good chance to make that 65 yard kick.

It's a coin toss. Which is more risky, a 60+ yarder or going for it on 4th down with Mason? Not sure there's a winner or a loser there. You can make a case for either, but neither is an ideal option to be facing.

If only Tomlin attempted the field goal in the first half instead going for it on 4th and 1

Yeah, he could have possibly done it.

I understand if he has missed 60 with a history. But he actually has a history of kicking long

I would give Rudolph's chance less than 10%!

Lost by 3 because the steelers had a defensive TD(because Williams hold the ball forever on that play)and Caleb Williams was inaccurate so many time in that game but the bears still score 31 points....How many times mutiples receiver was wide open in that game?

I can think of at least 5 passes Caleb missed for WIDE open guys 10-15 yards downfield. He hits even 3 of those this game could have been 40 plus for Chicago. Our pass defense was not good today

Mason Rudolph completes 9 yard passes in practice too.

Yeah, like I said this is nothing new multiple receivers being open is something the defense has struggled with most of the season.

I just knew when they got near midfield on the last drive, they were going to at least get the game to OT. Arthur Smith calls weren't good and Mason decision making screwed it up at the end.

That's the thing, you know your OL is below average. We don't have a big back..That big TE should doing short yardage runs in practice.
Once again it boiled down to coaching..CLEAN HOUSE

What’s amazing is that we tightened it up vs. Cincinnati, only to revert back to what wasn’t working. Was the strategy to bait Williams into making bad throws to receivers who are wide open? Brilliant!

I’d like @S.T.D@S.T.D to provide some analysis of what we’re doing here and why.

I like Rudolph as a person, but there's a reason teams weren't beating down the door to sign him as a starter, and a reason why he was released again by other teams after the Steelers released him initially.
