Limas Sweed walks out on Roughriders

    The point was the Sweed block. It occurred on the same play that Heath ran over the DB out of bounds. The block was about the only good memory that most fans have of Sweed, unfortunately.

    I know he was a major bust but I still don't think he was a bad pick. Dude just couldn't get his head together or he would have been dominant. When it comes to drafting wrs I will never doubt tomlin and colbert. I read somewhere that the last seven wrs bellicheat has drafted are no longer in the league. Maybe that is a bad sign that he wanted Sanders lol

    A worthy gamble, as previously posted, but didn't work for whatever reasons.

    His, was the exact pick I would made that draft day. I chose Mendy @ 1, when he fell and we couldn't pass Limas @ 2 when he was there.

    It didn't work out. Life's a gamble and the draft is part of the game.

    Everyone likes to say how what a great draft we thought we had at the time in 08' but Mendy and Sweed were the only 2 picks that I liked. Sweed is everything you'd look for in a receiver, you had to take him there. There was no way to predict Sweeds mental makeup would implode.

    I remember how excited I was when we got Mendy and Sweed one and two. I thought it was a great coup to get BOTH of those guys. Man, was I ever wrong, lol!

    Well, to be fair Mendy did have 3 productive seasons, Sweed was a total bust. Which is why I know I should temper my enthusiasm about the picks this year, anyone of them can be a Sweed, but I can't help it, seems really good.

    I think Sweed was cracked a little....but I still think the Steelers broke him.
