I guess that is all based on how you view Nix and Dart. I do not think either is a "solution" to any QB situation. Dart reminds me of rookie year Baker Mayfield. So I guess he will be good four teams and six years from now? Nix is fools gold in my opinion....but it does not mean I am correct in that assessment.

I think Nix is good now. He has a chance to be very good next season.

From what I have seen, Nix is still a pretty inaccurate QB down the field. He is also nervous in the pocket. Again....this is just one dude's non-expert opinion but I would not be very optimistic about my team's chances with Bo Nix at the helm for the next 5 years. For me, he just isn't a guy that you win many playoff games behind. The rest of the roster has to elevate him, not Nix elevating the rest of the roster.

Dart, again one non-expert keyboard masher's opinion, is just a louder version of Daniel Jones. Again...a guy you can win games with but he doesn't elevate the rest of the roster.

Honestly, I suspect that Will Howard could find a way to equal both those dude's production in the same situation (roster and coaching staff). And I am not that excited about Howard either.

Sounds like somebody needs to start the Steelers Free Agent Prospects 2031 thread.

Nix is having a bit of a sophomore slump but I think he rebounds. Think Denver has there guy for the foreseeable future.

Dart Im starting to regret the Steelers not picking him but he wont last long if he doesnt start taking better care of himself. Him and Skattebo each play with reckless abandon. One has already been lost for the year.

I wasn't for giving up the picks to move up for Nix. There were too many holes that needed filled and I didn't see him as enough of a lock to invest that kind of draft capital in.

Dart is the one that would sting if he developed. I was on the fence over whether they should've taken him, but wouldn't have been upset if they did (like I would've been if they'd gone Milroe there).

If the Steelers traded up for Nix in 2024, they likely wouldn't have a first round pick in 2025.

I don't think he would've cost that much. The current draft trading chart has the 12th pick rated 350 points higher than the 20th. That's equivalent to pick 55, maybe a little more if the other team puts a first round tax on it. But at a minimum that would mean we don't have Fautanu or Frazier. Which, if they felt Nix was their guy, you make the move. Apparently they didn't.

I think Nix is a system QB. Denver has built a heck of a team around him, and to his credit he executes within the system and makes it click. I see him as a more athletic version of Brock Purdy. If you put him in just the right system and surround him with talent, he’s going to do what you need him to do. I don’t see him carrying a team through tough times if things aren’t clicking around him. Just my view.

I liked Dart the best of all of the QBs in the 2025 draft, but I didn’t see him as having anything better than a 10-20% chance of being a strong NFL QB. Bad QB draft IMO. I saw very little gap between the guys who went early and Howard. liked the Harmon pick better in the 1st round. He has the feel of a guy who will be a foundational slab of bedrock for our defense for the next 10+ years.
