why did they ditch the redskins name? Was it really an effort to appease native american concerns? (If that was really the issue)

    What drives me nuts.
    - I see some of the X posts.. there's one above. But here's the thing, when you look at the diagrams, the X's and O's, schematics, they don't really change a lot.
But when you flip players around or find players that fill those spots and produce better, then it works.
I suppose that qualifies as change of schema, probably, maybe, I dunno.
But the coaches are supposed to assess those guys they have and put them in the best places in the first place.
But OK.... it is a learning curve as the season goes on. They adjust.
Around the league, you never hear Austin's name mentioned as top HC candidate. You really don't hear him as a top DC.
but what the heck, I'll go along.

    Political Correctness.
The politicians wouldn't grant a new stadium...
    The owner was a jerk
    etc......

People were offended on behalf of some native Americans who......weren't offended by the name.

In fact, the Native American Guardian Association started a petition to change the name back to Redskins because they felt it was a sign of reverence for Native Americans:

So will every game left on schedule. Matter of fact I'm guessing the Steelers will only be favored against the Dolphins and depending how we look before we play the Browns, maybe them.

Nooooooo! This can't be true. They have had personnel, and schematic changes. LoL
But , but they never change, and STD is stupid even though he already told us this. LoL
Maybe, just maybe people will believe me now.
Sorry all. I just had to.

The coaching staff have been unpredicable for the opponents in the last 3 weeks on defense,so this is great to see

This is harder for the opposing team when you don't know what will be the gameplan

I seem to remember Flacco being nearly perfect in his first game when they barely beat us. Far from perfect the second time around.

That plus our defense scoring was the difference the second time around.

They have always changed. Problem is that people believe thing they are told instead of just seeing what is actually happening.
LoL. OMG. Yeah no changes. LoL
I've pointed to these exact examples of changes, but because someone on tv said they don't change years ago, and even though I see it with my own two eyes that they do, some won't believe it , because they don't want to believe it. It's that simple.
Some need Mike Tomlin to sit down , and list all the changes from game to game. Guess what, he's not going to do it. It serves him no purpose.

Afterwards a leader from a Native American group in the DC area said no one ever asked them their opinion and they didn’t care
