We’ll see what Tomlin has to say but hopefully this is pretty accurate.

I wouldnt rush him back, let Gainwell and Johnson handle next week, you can run on Chicago.

That is all the more reason to want their top running back out there, especially if they are playing a backup quarterback.

No reason to rush him back going against a defense their other two RBs can exploit.

If he’s good to go, then play him. Warren is so much better than our other two backs that we can’t afford to rest him for no reason. Obviously I don’t want to risk him getting more injured, so if he’s truly hurt then we should rest him….

Gainwell is a good 3rd down back, but a backfield of Gainwell/Johnson doesn’t make me all that excited…

The reason is that he can exploit it better. The Bears' offense is dangerous. This isn't the time to be sitting guys if they are able to play.

I was happy the see Johnson did ok. He messed up once, but that was something he can work on.

5 carries for 15 yards and a penalty isn't "ok" in my book. Though, it is absolutely the best he's looked all year. I get that his facemask penalty came on an 8-9 yard run... but it's not been looking okay for Johnson.

Good news at least. It was apparently just precautionary based off this info. I'd expect Warren to be available and play this week. Big for us.

And people complained why wasn't he getting more reps for years??
Appears he can't handle those more reps which sucks

Johnson is 21st among rookie RB's in rushing yardage. That's terrible for a 3rd round pick.

This was one of my primary concerns when it became clear they weren’t keeping Harris. Warren had not shown he could handle the heavier workload. So far, he still can’t. Gainwell has been better than I expected, which helps, but they need more from Warren.

"..... it's about who gives us the best chance to win."

And yet, Tomlin is sending Pierre back to the bench after his best game as a Steeler while putting Slay back in against CHI. Make it make sense.

Don't ever forget money spent, and draft pick status for how many chances a player will get. It's this way on almost every team to a point.

Agree but at some point it can't count for that much. That's like hiring a guy with 25 years experience just because he was an A student in college.

Well You also must remember is just because he is starting doesn't mean Pierre doesn't play.

Some of you are so desperate to be right :lolol:

On average, RBs miss 2-3 games a year.

Harris has already surpassed the amount of games Warren has missed in his entire career.

well, yeah... but it definitely has more to do with his usage. Few carries means few yards. However, its more concerning that he hasn't been looking good enough to warrant more participation. He's been bad when he's gotten on the field, and obviously isn't doing enough in practices for them to want to give him a few more opportunities.

Quality RB's are easily attainable. I'd take another day 3 stab at RB in the draft and give Kaleb some roster competition. If he doesn't improve over the offseason its hard to see a scenario where he makes the team...
