Pierre has earned a spot over Slay for sure. I actually like this Secondary a lot more with JPJ and Pierre outside Echols as the Nickel and Ramsey and Dugger at Safety.

I wanted to bring him back when we let him leave. But I do think that rolling the dice with Wilson and Fields was probably a better plan in the end.

It’s not difficult to comprehend. We played against a the worst (or close to the worst) defense in the league. Roughly 70% of the passes went to Gainwell or tight end. And most of the passes to Gainwell were behind or at LOS.

Good defenses will defend that, imo.

He could be one of the better backups in the NFL and would definitely be one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL.

 

Half of me wants us to sign him so we wouldn't have to face him any more.

Warren is an excellent RB- I love his style. And, I think Gainwell was a welcomed addition - he’s stepped up.

My prior comments are not about Rodgers or Mason, except I said was happy for Mason and Rodgers may she. A broken left wrist.


My point was that the offense needs to find more plays downfield - regardless of QB. Good defenses will prepare for the line of scrimmage passes and/or passes in the flat. It worked today and I’m happy it worked- we won! But Cinci had a horrible defense.


IMO, we will need more of a down the field passing game (beyond the sticks) against better defenses as teams can’t allow on YAC yards on every 3rd down play.

They hung in there on defense, but their offense is pathetic. With the exception of one throw on the last drive, they actually got worse with Sanders in there.
