Since 2016, the Patriots have won a SB, lost a SB, won a SB, sucked ass, and now looking like a SB contender again. Three head coaches.

Since 2016, the Steelers have won one playoff game. One head coach.

This NE club is more likable than the last one, IMO.

Steelers should have hired Vrabel when they had the chance. People say players want to play for Tomlin, watch NE, those guys love Vrabel. He’s built a winning culture so fast there, his guys want to run through a wall for him.

I personally wouldn't have been against the idea. The name that fits the most for me is Chris Shula, even though I personally would like to go against the mold and get an offensive guy from the McVay/Shanahan world.

Seattle has also fired Carroll despite only 1 losing season from 2012 to 2023...He had a great career in Seattle but sometimes you need a change when you want to be in a another level

But we have stability! Chasing 9-8 every year with no chance at contending for a championship. Who has it better than us?

Not a mystery. NE hit on a franchise QB. Without that they would be just another average team. Kinda like Vrabel's last season in TEN when Tannehill aged out.

Dammit, I thought this thread was about the Pirates;)

GO CENTRAL CATHOLIC!!!!! Funny, I googled CCHS football and a tab came up listing NFL players from CC. It list 6 players. Somehow forgot Dan Marino but had Marc Bulger.

Having a few down seasons like the Pats had in the last few years can be a good thing in the long run.....The best thing happen to the steelers in the 2000s was to have a 6-10 season in 2003.This is also important to put the QB in a good situation.Maye is in a much better situation this year under Vrabel and McDaniels as OC this season that he was last season under Mayo

Obviously every team needs a franchise QB but they had Maye last year and the team sucked.

A good read from a player that spent time on a winless team and a SB team:

"In Detroit, every day was kind of dreadful. Ah, man, I’ve got to go to work today. In Seattle, I couldn’t wait to go to work. Winning plays a role in that, obviously; we won in Seattle. But it was also just fun to be at work. We could joke around in the locker room or in meetings, but everyone knew what they needed to do when they got out on the field. In Detroit, everyone knew what they needed to do, but everyone was uptight about their jobs."

"Then I got an offer from the Browns. I sat on it and was like: Man, I’m going to go from Detroit to Cleveland? Oof."

Sure, and Maye was a rookie. Maye had the same number of wins as a rookie as Manning did. Not every QB comes into the league like Roethlisberger.

Their sucking had nothing to do with Maye.

You are crazy if you think the Pats would a similar season this year under Mayo....

I feel the same. Hire an Offensive minded head coach when Popcorn Bags Tomlin goes away.

The Pat's also have a great offensive coordinator and play caller. Much better than we have.

yup, the staff that the HC builds is one of his most important tasks he will perform.

I give Tomlin credit for at least breaking from the in house hiring to bring in Smith but McDaniels is a better OC. Smith fits Tomlins philosophy better though and well, here we are.

‘That game is a microcosm of the last ten years. We get teased by a few good games every year having us all think we finally turned the corner only to go back to our methodical mind numbing implosions with the floor seemingly dropping out with the same issues every year that never get addressed. Those two or three games every year where we beat a good team is almost always because of turnovers. You can’t consistently win like that and you certainly can’t build a successful franchise off of that.
