Heath ran the 100 yard sprint and the whole team smiled. Heck, I think the whole Steeler Nation is smiling. Superman will be there when the season starts!

I remember that quote from Mitchell about not counting Mclendon out after we drafted Ta'amu, he's been on my radar ever since. I guess Ta'amu hasn't been impressing because the man is huge, thought he would be a good one but I never hear anything about him, just the negative off field stuff but Mclendon has definitely been turning heads, he's another JH story, cut so many times and finally latches on.

Seriously. I can't believe how many people doubted him.

Let's not forget the greatest news of all - no major (non-carjack related) injuries! If we can stay healthy we are an immediate Super Bowl threat.

I know it sounds cliche (spelling?) but if I had a team full of Heaths I would be a lucky coach. There are certain players I have in mind when someone asks me what defines the Steelers. Heath is certainly one of those players!

    Screwed for Field Goals, though...

Actually, I say that, Heath probably can do that as well... I agree that he's one of those guys who just defines 'Steeler' for me - head-down, plays hard, plays til the end. If you go back and watch the '05 season when we won the superbowl, you remember how much of an impact he had on the team even as a rookie.

If you think about it, a team full of Heaths might be the best team in the league, if it had to play teams full of other single players. He could be decent all across the OL, a serious threat at all skill positions (he's even a former QB!). He could probably do just enough at every defensive position to be a problem, too. And you know that no other team would have as much chemistry and determination. Who are the "best" players? He would plow right through a team of Revises. Can you imagine what he would do to a team of Tom Bradys?

My biggest NFL wish is to get to see Heath throw a pass in the NFL before he retires. Haley needs a Heath pass play in his bag of tricks. He was one heckuva a high school QB here in SWVA and a lot of people felt like he could have been a very good quarterback at the next level. Al Groh at UVA had different ideas and converted him to TE. I love Al Groh.

I've been wanting to see him throw one, too. My idea is to do a couple of bubble screens / swing passes from the RB or H-back position, and eventually do a backwards one that turns into a double pass. But hell, I like him enough as a runner to see him get a straight handoff on a draw or end-around. That'd be an easier way to get him to throw it. The defense wouldn't see it coming, that's for sure.
