Maybe our new WR coach can teach him some things, been around long enough. I don't know if it's his hands or his routes or what but figure it out and put this young man to work.

Mike Wallace ran a 4.3 and he could never make a play in the big games, speed is good but you have to be able to catch also.

I guess it comes down to semantics. There's plenty of video proving his playmaking ability.

    etc...

It's not that Wallace couldn't make a big play. It's that he was wildly inconsistent. Failed at many routine plays, and seemed to have a lazy disposition.

But I'm an old white guy watching on his couch. I could always be wrong.

I'm no Mike Wallace fan, he lost me last season because I feel he disrupted the locker room and didn't give any effort on the field, seemed to me he played not to get hurt. That said, it's incredibly ridiculous to try and discredit any good stuff he did. He made plenty of big plays. Before last season, Mike Wallace was a good player for us, hell, even for a "down" year I believe he led all receivers in every stat.

except yards per catch. sanders holds that one.

sanders may not have the once every 3rd game long catch but each catch is longer. that bodes well for us.

But I think Wallace was targeted way more than any other receiver wasn't he? (too lazy to look it up)

It seemed to me that Ben tried to force the issue with Wallace last year and was determined to get the ball to him open or not. With some receivers you can throw them a contested ball (Hines, AB, Boldin, Heath) and they'll come down with it greater than 50% of the time, but Wallace has to be REALLY open before he'll come down with the catch. His contested balls are too often no contest in favor of the DB.

    Stefan Logan was fast...
    Chris Rainey was fast...

We HAVE to use them right, or it means nothing.

I'm so excited to see Dunn line up at RB on opening day, and take a Dive right up the middle. What could go wrong?

I know a word like a "lot" is relative, but, this kid seems a "lot" faster/quicker than Wallace.

not sure about straightline speed but this kid has acceleration. from his start and stop, then back up to full speed so quick is what makes his running ability better then say wallace. he just has to do something else well to get a helmet. thats the part we don't know about yet.

Exactly, with that kind of speed I'm hoping he can find that something else. I would hate to see it sprint out the door!

i wish we had some more reports about the punt returns. kickoffs take him out of the game now. kick it out of the EZ and he's a wasted player if he can't field punts. bell returned kicks for mich.st. too. LSH returns kicks. we need a punt returner. mcneal from USC the other RB, i'm not sure if he does either. anyone know?
