Trade Tomlin to Giants?

Browns as an entire Organization is terrible. Starts with Jimmy Haslam. Buck stops with him.

 

I think about the only initiative Tomlin would have in going to NY is to be closer with his wife. NY is a hub for fashion shows n'at.

I agree that the broadcast booth makes the most sense; however, about the only potential job that makes sense is honestly Buffalo, assuming they fire McDermitt for failing in the playoffs or missing it completely.

Chuck Noll was never coach of the year (I believe). They asked him about and he said they usually are fired right after that.

Usually COY awards go to a coach who took a bad team and did OK with them for the first year he was there. But the team usually still has bad players the following year and they quickly revert to their losing ways.

FWIW, I don't think the Steelers are anywhere close to desperate.

While there are some press conference answers from Rooney that try to make it seem like there's some urgency, I think we're doing what the team wants.

If we go a couple years where we're out of the playoffs by week 12 or something, then maybe I think we'll get desperate.

But as long as we're competing for a playoff spot, I think that's the low end of acceptable for the team.

But he can waive that correct? Not sure why he wouldn’t want to go there. A marquee franchise with a respected owner, franchise QB and a stud WR. He can win there

The no-trade clause is the least important part of this equation to begin with. The Rooney's just aren't going to seek a trade like that w/out talking to Tomlin first. And that talk would be the end of Tomlin's tenure here and would lead to saltiness in the future. That's just not good for anyone.

The most likely timeline for a Tomlin trade would look like this:

1: Giants search committe contacts Tomlin's agent to seek interest

2: Tomlin tells his agent he's interested

3: Committee tells Giants that Tomlin is interested

4: Giants ask permission to speak to Tomlin

5: Tomlin interviews

6: Tomlin agrees to become the Giants HC

7: Mara's and Rooney's discuss trade details & finalizes the trade

.........

I highly doubt any of this comes to fruition. But, I think the possibility of this is higher than the Bears and Commanders trade rumors of past years.
