Kinda shocked he chose the Steelers.

 

Hope this is Jr and not Sr....

With the Steelers you can't be sure

 

Good low risk/high reward signing. If he pans out, we have our two outside CBs in place for the next half decade. If he doesn't pan out, he's just another guy that got some PT on the PS.

 

But is the defense getting younger or older? I've read that's important.

 

Probably the best place where he can step in and play right away.

 

Why? He is guaranteed to start even if he can't turn his neck.

 

Can he play receiver?

I assumed he'd get signed before his visit with us.

Hopefully he can hit the ground running.

Odd that they'd sign him to the PS though. That's a red flag IMO. Means that any team can poach him if we don't want to promote him to the 53.

I think we still only have 52 guys signed to the 53? If so, I think it's not a great sign that we don't think he's ready to be on the roster right away.

Also suggests that none of the other teams he met with were willing to put him on the roster. Because anyone is going to take a rostered job over a practice squat spot.

 

My guess is that is someone in the league wanted him on their roster this week, he would have accepted to go there instead of signing to be on our PS.

I also think we have an open spot on the 53 if we wanted to stop someone from doing this.

Regardless what u think of current management gots to give Khan credit. I think he goes out and gets and unfortunately gets rid of who he’s told to. Still shaking my head with the GP deal.

Any other time, for the Steelers, this would be THEE signing but with the current state, we’re all like, “ awright”.

Solid part for our D and we’ll prolly (hopefully) see him for Da Bears game.

 

we coach our DBs to be 5 to 10 yards behind whoever they are covering, so its a non issue.

I hate that we got rid of Pickens as well, but I don't know how he would've handle minimal targets every week.

 

Some steelers fans are overreacting to this signing he's coming off of a serious injury, and he wasn't a good tackler before the injury.
