Smith isn't the problem but I don't think he's the solution either. He's a pretty meh OC that looks better than he is since we're coming off the likes of Canada and Fichtner.

The issues I have right now with Smith are things like why is Gainwell playing so much when Warren is 1 of 2 playmakers that we have on offense? Why are we consistently running Jonnu/Muth out there instead of another WR? Get Wilson on the field more. There's also issues like not committing to run when it's working, like the 2nd and 6 inside the 10 after a nice Warren run that we then threw 3 straight times and turned it over on downs. There's just no real identity on offense.

Hope so. At least both did play last night. Can't get out of the doghouse if you're not given chances. I just didn't like how he phrased it...maybe he meant you can get out of DH, but only if you're nearly perfect for a long stretch? I dunno. Seeing them play means he was just venting more than hardlining.

We can't get a new OL coach and a new OC soon enough. The lack of holes int he running game, game in and game out, is infuriating. We're being held back back poor, very poor coaching and planning on the offensive side. Smith and Meyer making Matt Canada look tolerable (they all three suck rocks).

Dotson still pisses me off. He was SO good at his natural guard postion. Common sense (not a Tomlin trait) dictates you keep him at the position he excels. Instead Tomlin and the OL coach think moving guys into positions they're less comfortable makes more sense, so we get less effective across the board.

Somone needed to override Tomlin or Tomlin needed to overrided the OC/OL, whomever made that decision to switch Dotson over and LEAVE him there when he clearly wasn't as effective. Lacking in awareness is a Tomlin trait, so its hardly surprising.

I still think he should go coach college ball. Nice cushy job at one of the top colleges. Would be a recruiting machine.

You are crazy if you think that the 2006 season was the true colors of the steelers in the 2000s....They were 15-1 in 2004,win the super bowl in 2005.Remember Ben had a accident in june in 2006 and the wife of Cowher had a cancer so his head was not in football that year

This is such a surprise that Dotson look better in a Sean McVay offense that he was in a Matt Canada offense!!!!

In addition to the things I posted earlier.
Since I was riding the coattails of a Chargers guy.... :)

I got to listen to Jesse Minter.
I think the broadcast got it right, Jessee is a guy that probably will be tagged as a coach in the future.
I've mentioned that the Steelers sometimes remind me of Grandma's house with the smell of mothballs in the closet and the old ways.
Minter's group, 9 assistants, well, really 8 as his dad is an analyst. is very impressive.

First off, GM Joe Hortiz was plucked from the Baltimore organization, and he's made some impact with the Chargers.
What I liked was decisions like to let Joey Bosa go and build with some youth.
They focused on the Oline (which is banged all up - I thought we would take advantage of that more)
    And the Defense.
They let Dobbins go and went with Vidal and Najee but that fell through. Vidal is doing well though.
We beat-up Herbet but could never force that offense out of its plan, and both phases worked well against us.
They beat us at our own game, physicality.

I wouldn't promote bringing in Minter as HC, but a change to something with fresher views and more modern approaches, there's something to be said about that. There are candidates that probably are better (I'm not into evaluating all those at this time). I think we are stuck in the past and need an injection of youth.

Blah blah blah, stop acting like Tomlin hasnt sucked the past 10+ years.. When Tomlin was hired i was 100 percent behind the hireing.. But it didnt take long to figure out he was nothing more than a CL like Bradshaw said. Matter of fact i think i was off the Tomlin Wagon before Bradshaw was

Because a younger quarterback would never throw interceptions, over or under throw receivers, or take a safety.

    the properly drafted ones do.

Will you be surprised if a 42 yr old Rodgers starts having a string of bad games down the stretch this season? Hopefully this game was an anomaly for him, but it may not be. And the steelers went through this last season.

No. You actually answered the questions correctly. It was either yes or no with no being the correct answer. You have chosen to add a bunch of bullcrap afterwards.
