Yep. At least in that earlier period, there was the "AFC has only be represented in the SB by Brady / Manning / Ben" for a while. So the Steelers were a part of it. Now we aren't. And it's mostly "the AFC has mostly been represented by Mahomes, but Brady still slipped a couple in there, and somehow the Bengals got through once...but don't worry, the didn't win".

Guys with great skill at QB who actively take less than market value seem to clean up in a cap driven league. Although I still thought that Mahomes wouldn't have as much success as he has after his last contract (even though it's "cheap" by QB standards). Personally, I'd almost certainly get all the money I could so I don't blame the other very talented QBs who took market value deals.

 

FWIW, I think the Rats have been an elite team for the past few years. And they have 3 playoff wins in the last decade+.

Playoff losses since the 2020 season have all been to elite QBs: Allen last year, Mahomes the year before, Burrow in 2022, Allen in 2020.

Sucks to be in the AFC. Even when you have a 2x NFL MVP under center. Jackson has more MVPs (2) than Ben has all-pros (0). But the AFC playoffs are crazy because the best 4 (or 5) QBs are all on one side of the bracket.

I think if you put the Rats or the Bills in the NFC, both teams would have multiple SB appearances (Bills would obviously lose ever one of them though ).

Steelers are gonna get a whoopin on Sunday night. I predicted 1-2 at best for this three game stretch vs. Packers, Colts and Chargers. Chargers are missing OTs, but backups ALWAYS do well vs 2020's Steelers.
