Patrick Queen shouldn't have been counted on making plays as a Coverage LB anyways. Just because a Linebacker has the athleticism and size doesn't mean that they possess the instincts nor Football IQ to go along with it. For that matter, ILBs or Off Ball Linebackers that possess both at high levels often go in Round One.

As for the incoming incumbents in Arvell Reese and presumably Anthony Hill Jr., the former is the most dynamic LB for the Buckeyes since Ryan Shazier. That isn't hyperbole either; Arvell Reese can flat out play and, in my opinion, is the best Buckeye Defender of the 2025 Squad. Whomever drafts Reese will have a Day One bonafide, blue collar ass kicker.

Regarding Anthony Hill Jr.?! He is Payton Wilson but much younger with even more potential. Like Wilson, he can get overaggressive in terms of finding his keys when attacking rushing lanes and will also have some trouble shedding blocks. However, his overall template for a true three down Linebacker is very difficult, if not impossible to ignore.

Now, will Pittsburgh target either of these players in 2026?! Extremely doubtful. Will they be targeting the position however?! Likely.

Stay tuned folks. Jaishawn Barham from Michigan isn't a Coverage LB like Wilson is but he does bring one element the Steelers currently lack; Run Stuffing Machine. In addition, he is a rock solid blitzer too.
