round two of OTA's starts today

waiting for reports. it's been said mike adams will get his reps at LT this week.

fangupo is still learning how to not break free and try to make tackles. in other words become a 3-4 NT and not a 4-3 DT. he's been in here during the offseason working he said.

will woods get more time at NT is another question. 4 guys behind mclendon.

foster is still hungry he says. has gotten some reps at center too. he will step on heads to get the job done he says. i like it.

marcus wheaton still not able to be here.

will jarvis jones be able to practice?

whats the punter situation? kicker? longsnapper? ingrahm is supposed to be the top LS amongst the 2013 crop.

I was pretty happy when the Steelers picked up Fangupo last year. I was pretty high on him. I could have sworn that he was projected as a 3-4 NT though. I would have thought he would know the position. Best case scenario Fangupo and Ta'amu both work out and they have too many at the position. Always a better scenario to be in when you have too much tallent.

 

It is more about how the Steelers play the 3/4 NT than anything else. They are taught to tie up and take as many Olineman with them as they can allowing the ILBs to make the tackles.

 

A lot of college DTs are can be projected to be a NT...but that doesnt mean they know or have played the position. The projections are generally based on size/etc...not necessarily that they've played the position before.

i guess we wait for the preseason opener and find out. LOL. still not sure if it's worth the roster spot without the WR skills. maybe those could be worked on.

I just hope da beard can knock down passes like he was two seasons ago. Man, that was fun to watch!
