We play Ravens first time on a day that will live in infamy. I am thinking (more like hoping) that last game of season with them will be meaningful for both sides.

That is a bit unfair. Really advantage Ravens.

Someone has to take $10M/year from Rooney. If it ain't the HC, who would it be?

I believed that to always be the case, it’s the Steelers MO. It’s the rest of your premise I disagree with.

Colin Dunlap is another local guy that criticizes Tomlin.

Ray Fittipaldo is a beat writer who also is not afraid to criticize him.

Didn't we recently have a big board-wide debate on the subject of if halftime adjustments are even a thing? I think I remember that happening.

It's a question we are all asking. If the coaches are making the right adjustments but the players aren't those adjustments, at least we know what we need to work on and how to get better from this point on.

If the coaches just aren't making adjustments, or the wrong adjustments, it's the same thing. Now we know what to work on to get this team back in the right direction.

We as fans will likely never know the answer to that. Maybe it's a combo of both.

Well since Austin is the actual one calling the plays and personnel packages then he is more than just a figurehead. The in game play calling is much more important than game planning. The gameplan rarely holds up in its entirety for the whole game, your coordinator needs to be able to adjust too what the offense is doing. You can fire the head coach all you want but if you dont get rid of the guy actually calling the plays you wont get any better.

Let me give you an example of the effect of a coach that knows his stuff.

Mike McDonald - formerly Ravens DC

When you have a coach that knows what he is doing it makes a difference, sometimes a huge difference.

STD wants to know why they are playing so much man, stubbornness.

Tomlin thinks they should be great at it, clearly they are not.

Why would you have a problem with what he said. Someone is ****ing up here and hes wondering if it’s the coaches or players.

Dismissing one of the best QBs to ever play and played for this team no less is definitely a choice.

So the guy Mike Tomlin thought was a good fit to call his defensive scheme is awful and yet Mike has no blame in this? At some point you need to trace things back to the one consistent problem. We have had many different players and coordinators but only one man stands and nothing has changed.

The holding calls need to be added to Porters numbers

Plus the yards gained when he’s afraid/unable to tackle

I’d put our guys up against all time greats like Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison Sr. in man coverage.

However, I’m not sure if those guys are interested in coming out of retirement to join one of our future opponents.

Cant remember what former player or analyst said it but he said its almost like the Steelers are trying to disguise their coverages so much that it is leaving people completely out of position to make plays.

And this is a bunch of 'grisly veterans' as Mike Tomlin called them in his PC. Goes back to coaching or lack thereof. Guys just not looking prepared for their roles, constant arm waving before the snap.

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers on the “fire Mike Tomlin” bandwagon may have received some good news for a change — as a new report from Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac indicates that Art Rooney II isn’t thrilled about the current shape of the team.

During a Steelers chat with fans, Dulac was asked if Rooney was “angry” with Tomlin over the lack of playoff wins and the recent failures of the highest-paid defense in the league — to which he set the record straight on the strained relationship between ownership and head coach.

“Angry is not the word,” Dulac wrote. “Frustrated or impatient would be a better choice.”

Official: The Steelers have announced Mason Rudolph as the starting QB for the week 9 match against Colts, a move that is believed to give Aaron Rodgers time to regain his composure before the humiliating 25-35 loss to his former team.

Breaking News: The first silent rebellion of the Rodgers-Tomlin era has officially begun, revealing the first evidence that the Steelers are more discordant than ever, even Roman Wilson, a Steelers star, declared to the press: "If Mike Tomlin keeps this old strategy, we won't be able to make the playoffs..."
Okay some quotes. Dulac would write that unless Rooeny approved it. Has Rooney foreshadowed a decision?

    Suddenly Mason Rudoplh is starting.

And Roman Wilson, a player who produces when his# is called, takes a shot at Tomlin as for some reason he has been in his dog house. Might there be a reason for this?

Wild speculation on my part. Rooney has made up his mind and Tomlin has lost the Steelers.

Dark shades days are numbered. The writing on the wall has become more visible.

This looks like the beginning of a complete regime meltdown, and the annual collapse has started 3 months early.
